Was wondering what some of the guys outside the states are getting for mileage? (I'm assuming Australia is on EU gallon, so I can convert.) If this is posted someplace my apologies, I ran several searches and came up with nill.

Have done both, and the thread you posted wasn't all that informative for what I'm looking for. I saw one post for an old 3.0 CRD 2wd with swapped gears.

I see several posts from 2012+ 3.0 CRD owners, my bad for asking them what mileage they are seeing...

We talk liters per 100km here in Australia. most report around 7.5 -8 L/100km on the highway and around 10-11 city.
There is a thread called diesel people enlighten me or similar and loads of discussion there

Well based on conversions.

at 7.5L per 100km: 62.1371 Miles / 1.98129 gallons = 31.36 mpg

at 8L per 100km: 62.1371 Miles / 2.11338 = 29.4 mpg.

Not too bad! And you have the 5 speed I'm assuming, since you are saying you think the 8 speed will help mileage. (That'll depend on gearing for highway, should help city/mixed some.)

I just picked up a 2013 (five speed transmission) JGC Loredo Diesel and in it's first 900 kilometres I have a fuel consumption of 8.7 litres/100km or a fraction over 27mpg (US gallons). Not bad for a new car driven in a mix of city and highway conditions. I love this thing.

Then I must do something wrong. 13,5 liter/100km urban and 10 liter / 100km extra-urban. Heavy foot in the city and around 140km/h cruising speed on highway. 2013 S-limited with 5-speed gearbox. I wonder what 8-speed would do to the consumption:D

Hi ,

I have a 2012 GJC Overland diesel.
I have recently returned from an interstate trip covering 1240 Klm.
Mostly highway travelling with speed zones anywhere from 80 kl / hr to 110 kl / hr.

averaged 8.2 per 100 litres on total trip.Fantastic fuel figures given I had Jeep fully loaded with gear and people.
Around Brisbane I usually get between 8.8 to 10.4 kilometres per 100 litres.

Regards
Strategy

We have a brand new my14 gc Laredo CRD in Western Australia. We have averaged 7.7L /100km over a 770km drive with long term average of approx 100km/hr (most travel at 110km/hr on wet roads). Certainly cannot fault the 8speed auto!

I have a 2005 3.0 CRD with 66,000 miles and we get about 25mpg urban and up to 32mpg on motorway. Towing a twin axle caravan we get about 24mpg. We like to think our fuel consumption is good!

I have a MY14 Laredo diesel. Recently completed 9,000k trip with 2 tonne van throughout central OZ and western Qld., averaged 12.5 l/100 k. That equals to 18.8 m.p.g. (US) or 22.5 mpg (UK)
Just recently returned from 1100k highway trip with no trailer but loaded with 4 adults. Averaged 7.7 L/100. Thats 30.54 mpg (US) or 36.6 mpg. (UK).

Just love the 8 speed box, the torque power, and the economy.
