Honestly though, who RTFM unless they really have to?Or, we as consumers have a responsibility to know what the products we're purchasing are/are not capable of. The owner's manual is a great place to start, as well as the Jeep website.

It is probably in the fine print at the bottom of the commercial (driver actually stopped vehicle once warned).... The Mercedes commercial I am referring to that is.Honestly though, who RTFM unless they really have to?
(sometimes I do, but usually I don't)
Not excusing ignorance, just saying marketing can have a lot of influence on peoples' expectations.
You have the FCW set to "far" ??I have a 2014 JGC Overland 1000KM with the same issue as Drwilki2, FCW never worked from day one. It's enabled, I did try testing it many times with no luck, no audio /visual alerts. Took it back to the dealer, they ran a Diagnostic scan and said the Jeep is fine. Still not working, I'm going to another dealer later this week for a second opinion.
The FCW is really only supposed to warn you in imminent crash situations. even in "far" the system is hard to trick.... trust me two of us here spent a great deal of time getting it to happen but it does in the situations it should. Contrary to the OP, there is no known failures of this system (TMK) and all of them have been proven good.Willx, thanks for the response, yes it's set to Far now, had it set to Near earlier in the week, makes no difference.. Kinda sucks when u spend practically 2 days at the dealer on a 2 weeks old JGC, also have transmission shifting rough in low speed issue, I removed the battery as some suggested, did not help, dealer said it's because I have the ECO switch enable and using regular unleaded fuel.. Hope this is not a trend with the Jeep dealers...
no worries, any time....Willx, thanks.. Will drive it for another few weeks and see if the FCW works.. The salesman and the owner of the dealership I bought the Jeep from said prior to me purchasing the truck that they have FCW on their vehicles and it's annoying at times due to the frequent alerting.. Taught by now I would have seen at least one alert... As for the Eco switch will drive with it off for a bit and see if it helps.. Will also check the transmission fluid.. Appreciate the feedback..
I didn't have any FCW warning after driving my 2014 GC for a week. So I checked the user guide and I found out that there is a "FCW off" button under the climate control (next to "ECO on" button. Mine is turned off when I picked up the car (the LED is on) and it reminds off. I am not sure why, but it seems that someone turned it off before I picked up the car.I have a 2014 JGC Overland 1000KM with the same issue as Drwilki2, FCW never worked from day one. Just to verify, on as in the light below the radio for FCW is NOT lit.Pharmaboy, I hear u, I just want to ensure the system works since it's been two weeks and still no (Brake, Brake, Brake) alert from FCW as you described it, I can always turn it off if it get's to annoying as wsu108 indicated in his post.. Wsu108, just fyi, my FCW button is set to ON, hope yours works, keep us updated.. Tks..
