The same physical transfer case can be employed in different ways in different vehicles. Keep in mind that there's a lot of software used in vehicles today to manage the drivetrain.

No. It's gone. So is the "SRT". Any next generation "performance" Grand Cherokee, if one ever comes to be (I doubt it) will most likely be electrified just as Dodge is doing with their performance vehicles.

They have said they're 'considering it'. The SO Hurricane, when released, should be quite fast on its own.

True, but I still doubt it. The overall market is moving in a different direction, including for high performance vehicles. If anything, I'd "bet" harder on a hybrid arrangement with the Hurricane over a pure ICE setup at this point.
