Recently I saw a red 2023 Jeep GC Summit Reserve on a U-Tube video with the Tupelo interior. This was a brighter red than the current velvet red. This Jeep was at an auto show and the video was by InterUnet. It showed both the interior and exterior of the Jeep, but had no audio and did not indicate where the auto show was. Anybody else see this video? Could this brighter red be the replacement for velvet red later this year or maybe for 2024? Velvet red has been around since at least 2017. I would have ordered a 2023 GC Summit, but you can only get a black interior with velvet red. And I don't like black interiors.

Not sure about a new red color, but Tupelo and Red Velvet are selectable on 23' Summits.
Looks like Jeep made a change within the last two weeks. I did a GC Summit build on the Jeep website with velvet red and tupelo and now it allowed it. About two weeks ago my Jeep dealer tried that combination and it would not allow that as an order. I will have to go back to to my dealer and see if it is now a combination I can order. Thanks for the information.

Oh wow. Good to know and glad it is back! I am not a fan of all black interiors either.

After being a detailer in my early life, I’m partial to black interiors as they can always clean up to look brand new. Even 10 years later.
I wanted to like the Tupelo interior but I feel like they went a bit over the top.
i don’t like the seatbelts and interior plastics (like the entire door panels) being light beige. And they should have made the leather diamond stitching a contrasting colour to add depth.
Thankfully they left the carpets, pillars, and headliners black… that would have been a disaster.
As a guy who lives in blue jeans, I went conservative and got the black.
Just accept the fact that light leather is going to show dye transfer easily And stay on top of cleaning it.
I suggest using chemical guys leather cleaner/ conditioner.

Well, the Trailhawk is black inside - not much choice there - LOL!

Another thing to consider is the Florida heat. All black can get pretty hot.

Totally understand those in hot climates getting light interiors.
I just remember shopping for a used Duramax years ago, having to pass on numerous nice trucks due to chevys disgusting all beige interior 🤢
I think that scarred me.

On a previous BMW X7, I had a very light interior:

Well, here it is my new 2020 X7 M50i! (Warning - Picture-heavy!!)

Jeep had a similar color on the WK2. I have to admit though that I would think twice getting such a color if I had small kids and/or pets.

The lighter colors are nice at night as well because they don't swallow the ambient light as much.

For some of us, it's an active choice to avoid a black interior at any cost regardless of where we live. :) Subjective for sure. My major issue with vehicle manufacturers is that it's become all too common that folks opting for top trims can't even choose a lighter color like tan/beige or light grey. I didn't have a choice when I bought the MY12 "WK2" Overland Summit and didn't have a choice when I bought what I drive now from a different manufacturer, all because for the top trim, there was ... one ... choice. You would think that folks spending the most money might get a few options on colors, but alas, the industry is what it is.

That BMW X7 interior @GCOverland posted looked amazing in white…. And I agree it looks better than all black.
interior colors are indeed subjective. I just wish Jeep left the seatbelts black and I think they over did it with the entire door being all washed out beige.
this is just my opinion..
I opted for the saddle brown leather in my truck.
but the door panels, seat bottom plastics, and seatbelts are black. Giving a far more balanced look in my opinion.
I’m glad Jeep has choice… wish we had more choice like the BMW… they have many options for interior design.

At the time I got the BMW, it had all the options and features you could even think of.

Next, COVID hit and the configuration I had was no longer available (rear entertainment gone, night vision gone, light headliner gone etc.). Even on the facelifted models, rear entertainment and night vision never made it back.

Back then, I got a 10% discount on the vehicle. During COVID, the same would have cost me full MSRP (so we are talking about $12K more).

When I realized that it would be a long time until BMW would return to competitive pricing, I took the opportunity and traded it in and collected a check from the dealership. That was only possible at that stage due to the high used car prices.

Even at 10% discount, the lease on the BMW was still $1,500/month. The payment on the MY21 Summit Reserve L I replaced it with was $500 less.

I had a close eye on the BMW-forum and checked what others were paying at the time I decided to trade mine in. Another member got an X7 without the missing features that were no longer available. Sticker was almost $10k less than mine and yet, his monthly payment was $2,000. That was not where I wanted to end up one day so switched.

Ohh it was a lease I see. Totally understand Covid distributions on price and options.
not gonna lie tho I’m looking at lightly used X7’s as a possible next vehicle..
The speed at which they depreciate is awesome for someone looking into a low mile used one.
interesting proposition.
