Was hoping to get some feedback. Just bought a 2022 Grand Cherokee. Noticing that when decelerating, the rpm will surge a few hundred revolutions as the vehicle continues to slow down and then drop back down to a normal level when stopped. Feedback from dealer is that it's normal for the slight surge as the vehicle downshifts but never had this in my previous non Jeep vehicles so wondering if this is a normal action?

I have a 2018GC High Altitude with the 5.7. I know that when it's in the sport mode and I'm approaching a stop or light, it will on its own start to downshift. Which of course ups the rpm for a second. My Dodge Scat Pack has rev match when I use the stick to downshift bringing the engine rpm's to match the speed of the transmission during deceleration...
