2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland - Towing package need additional brake monitor?

It does seem silly that Jeep would not include an internalized brake controller system with their "tow package". Maybe this is because they leave that choice up to you. As mentioned in the post above, boat trailer connections are different from travel trailer connections due to the water component.
In total agreement. Why Jeep does not include a brake controller built into the dash like Toyota does, I don't know. I have one installed in my JGC and it sits right in front of my right knee.

My point on this is that Chrysler (or whomever now owns Jeep) is missing out on a great sales opportunity.

The GJC is the best 6 Cyl towing vehicle on the market. We bought ours because it can tow 1000 pounds more than any other 6-Cyl SUV out there.

They did a fantastic job with the towing package by adding the air adjustable suspension. Adding a good controller would just make it even more attractive. I would not give a second thought about paying more for the towing package if I knew it included a controller built into the dash, instead of me having to hang one on the dash.

If you are rating your vehicle at 6000 pounds or more towing capacity, you have to figure a lot of folks that buy the towing package are going to be hauling trailers that have electronic brakes.

Or, offer two towing packages. One that includes the controller.
