2012 Grand Cherokee Overland 3.0 V6 CRD. I am trying to trace a thumping on the drive train at low speeds, already replaced rear prop shaft and had axle rebuilt. I'm wondering if I can remove the front prop shaft and still drive the car, i.e. will the transfer box diff lock up to just drive the rear wheels?
I want to try this to see if it is the front prop shaft or output shaft from the transfer box that is the problem. I also get a vibration at 60 - 70mph through the transmission.
