Oh I'm definitely re-enlisting...I'm just a stupid as you are over this vehicle, it just checks way too many of the necessary boxes. To the point where I have to get one out of state to get the options I want, leaving me exposed to a different states laws if I get another lemon. I never learn.

After all the BS I went though with my Billet Silver one that I have now, it's pretty much all sorted except for some nitpicky stuff and of course the bizarre clunk (which now happens totally randomly at times during deceleration even with no accompanying jerk). Sad part is I LOVE the Billet Silver but I'm after a Red Vapor now and they only come in one color I'll accept which is white. :(

Gotcha. I was wondering why you didn't just order one(red vapor is done).

Hopefully the second time's the charm. For both of us.

Ordering is done, they apparently only made 750, and I'm specific about options...I'm down to a family of only a few vehicles available in the country. Like I said, I'm a certified moron.

Well at least you won't have to wait long. Ordering for me is 5-7 weeks now and I only live across the state where they're made.

Tomorrow morning I have to bring in my lemon to have the leaking diff looked at. I debated just running it dry, but I'm not sure if it will make it until my new one comes in. There's just a big part of me that's screaming F-it let it ride.

Me too. I let my son get in it tonight with muddy soccer cleats. ??. I have to get the diff leak fixed before they'll let it out on the racetrack. I'm going to beat it like a rented mule.

Oh and I tried launch control for the first time today. 0-60 in 4.3 with two adult children. Lol. It was a blast.

14 SRT, no clunk, but two valve bodies, and all up dates, have not cured the draging down shifts, now seems the worst around 4-3, used to be 6-5,......not happy but I don't think Chrysler has a real fix yet, sounds like the 15's are just as bad, and maybe even worse with their clunks.....

here is how I would describe my dragging downshifts, normal speeds, remove your foot from the gas pedal to slow down for a stop light etc. sometimes my Jeep stays in it's current gear until you come to a stop them it drops down to 1st. Other times soon as I remove my foot from the gas, it starts slowing and downshifting, feels almost like the brakes are being applied, and some of the downshifts feel like someone is stabbing the brake pedal as the trans drops to a lower gear.....even coasting down a grade, the vehicle slows on it's own, tried putting it in neutral, doesn't occur, so it's not the brakes dragging or anything else in my drive train, feels kinda like a manual transmission that you downshifted too early and when you popped out the clutch the vehicle bucked forward and slowed too much....just about every other auto trans I've ever driven, stays in whatever gear it was in when you let off the gas, unless acted upon, by braking, acceleration, or manual shifting....My jeep decides to downshift on its own when taking my foot off the gas, dragging down my coasting or braking speed, very strange sensation, kinda lurches you forward

Is there someone that has claimed that the rough downshifting is rev matching? Because I had an Audi RS5 that rev matched downshifts with its dual clutch tranny (completely different unit obviously) and it was super smooth and had a raucous throttle blip to boot. I am not very experienced with performance automatics, is it possible it's actually doing this on purpose? The clunk remains unacceptable but I might be able to live with some roughness if there was a performance advantage...kind of late in the game for this revelation if so lol. Besides I would have thought the engineer that looked at my truck would have dismissed it quickly if it was by design rev matching.

I believe there is some rev matching, especially when in track mode. I'd have to say mine has some drag to it as well. I don't find mine objectionable and rather like it. It doesn't feel like a lazy old Ford AOD(automatic overdrive). If it weren't for the darn 6-5 clunk I'd be a happy camper.

I wouldn't discribe it as rev matching, it feels more like my trans isn't sure what gear it really want to shift into, so it kinda hangs up my car while it figures it out and makes its shift, be nice if there were an easy consistsnt way to discribe this

I have noticed that it will stay in high gear if you were just hammering on it and let off abruptly, but my Dodge 1500 with the same transmission (5.7L Hemi) did the same thing...which might be as designed because if you let off abruptly you either A) want the high transmission drag to aid in a quick stop or B) might want to get right back on the throttle in which case you might not want to wait for a downshift. Feels weird at first though.

Mine definitely feels like rev matching...more pronounced in sport mode. I figured it was normal for the vehicle and it doesn't bother me too much. The "rev matching" is still present after the 2015 flash, but the extreme 6-5 downshift is gone. I believe it may be normal as it really cuts down on braking.

Exactly what I feel, couldn't put it better.

I had a chance to put a couple hundred miles on my SRT today and I've got to tell you it really is a wonderful vehicle. It is an absolute joy going down the highway with the cruise set at 80mph and it feels like your going 50. It's just so sure footed and relaxed when you want it to be, but when ever you get on it a little bit your reminded of the beast that lies. Even after everything I been through with this SRT I'm really not second guessing my choice to get another one. It's that good. Tones at the very least I'd stick with this thread and wait for updates from myself and possibly Rlarsen(if he re-enlists) before you write the SRT off for good.
Yeah,.....I'm like you guys. I'm pretty anal about my vehicles and don't want to get a "lemon". Bringing it back and forth to the dealership for 'repairs", is not an option for me. One being time and two being that I don't know who is working on it and how it's being treated. That would really bother me.
I'll just keep following these threads here and on the other forum. Hopefully it get all get sorted out soon. There really isn't anything else that interests me out there at the moment. Maybe the new Raptor when it comes out next year, but I'd rather have the V8, but it all depends.

I'm there with you. We tested a ecoboost Ford Expedition EL and as nice as the truck was I didn't care for the engine. I'd much rather have the V8. I just don't trust anything that starts with Eco right now.

Especially in a big rugged truck like the Raptor. Unless it's got tons of power and torque. We'll see what they do with it. Comes out next year in the fall.
I did test drive a 2014 Ford Tremor, which had the EcoBoost as well. Nice looking truck inside and out, but I didn't like the way it felt driving it.

So, my SRT lemon started making a terrible howling sound today from somewhere in the rear end, so back in it went. Sigh. I think I'm now on my 7th or eighth time dropping the POS off at the dealer. Anyway they let me take a new Ram 1500 home for the day while they look at my SRT. It's a nice truck with no shifting issues what so ever. Why can my Jeep SRT shift like this. I understand the are totally different vehicles, but I have yet to feel this Ram have a single bad shift either up or down. I'm hopeful that this is what is normal for this transmission and not the clunking nightmare that is in the SRT.
