Doing a transmission fluid change

One thing on these is that there’s a seal for the primary filter that’s in the trans case this has to be replaced properly or else the trans will suck air in which results in low fluid pressure & lack of drive in any gear….

That’s it but I don’t see the seal there. What I’d do is look up in the area where the seal sits. You will see it when you pull the filter down. If it looks good then yeah I do think you can leave it, I replaced mine as Crosshairs said with a 19mm or 3/4” socket. Just be careful with those little 8mm bolts for the pan and you may need a u joint socket 1/4” drive for the ones near the cat converter. A leak toward the rear of the pan sometimes isn’t the RTV it can be the pressure sensor that is right above the pan rail on the passenger side. Personally I dislike RTV if I ever do this job again I want a pan with a drain plug & a Lube Locker gasket. Mine took more fluid than the book says like 8-9 quarts of ATF+4. Shifted great after I changed fluid & filters….
