not aware of a 4.0 engine in the Grand Cherokee WL generation. You might be in the wrong section of this forum for your question.

I'd ask why and/or how far do you need to do an engine tear down?
If the engine is toast it might be more cost effective and a lot less hassle to buy a re-man'd crate engine.

The honorable 4.0 is a simple old school engine.
No OH cams and no VVT phasers to worry about.

 

My dealership said 24 shop hours. They're liars though.
