So I'm curious as to how often everyone changes their oil. I'm going to be switching over to Mobil1 and am curious as to if the whole 3,000 mile change is still the norm. My uncle is a former auto mechanic and he told me years ago now that full synthetic oils shouldn't be changed for at least 5,000 miles at a minimum. Also, he said that there was no advantage to going full synthetic compared to adding half an oil change of full synthetic and the other half using conventional oil. Any info on any of this?
