New Radio - Lost SiriusXM

  • 2020 Grand Cherokee Summit....

  • SiriusXM worked for 3 years....

  • Recent appearance of "Device not supported" message box filled the UConnect screen..unable to see through it...clicked on X box & it disappeared...only to reappear in 2-3 minutes....dealer advised a software upgrade

  • In the process of performing this, he "fried the radio"....new one on order..

  • Returned home (no UConnect screen/services) & parked car in garage overnight.

  • In am, car completely dead..no lights etc....jump start difficult...associated with flashing - strobe-light effect on most lights...car placed on tow truck deck..back to dealer.

  • New radio installed...all back to normal EXCEPT unable to access Sirius channels other than Channel 0 (displayed Device #) and Channel 1 (Welcome screen with ad audio working)

  • Dealer & I have worked with Sirius support for hours over past week but unable to fix this...understand that the SiriusXM Receiver is built into the radio...vehicle at Dealer for 2 days now...no success.
Any suggestions gratefully received!
When the dealer replaced the radio, they should have notified Jeep of the change and the new radio S/N and Sirius Radio ID. I had mine replaced twice with no problems. Wonder if either the dealer or Jeep screwed that up. Dyslexia sometimes plays havoc with these things.

Dealer has decided that the 'new' radio is defective...has ordered a replacement!
Will wait & see.

Thanx!
Hopefully, that will fix it. When I had my radio replaced, the tech must have been a bit careless installing the cable as it quit a few days later and it turned out that one of the pins had been bent (apparently when the cable was installed) and broke off after being driven for a while (probably vibration of the vehicle). The worst thing was waiting for a new radio. Took a few weeks.

PROBLEM SOLVED! Just received a call from Sirius Canada...problem was at their end - despite multiple statements by various reps that it wasn't! Main computer system has a glitch..will take a week to resolve. But the Jeep & its radio are NOT the source of the problem.
Appreciate everyone's help & suggestions!
Good news. I have had good luck with Sirius customer service in the past. The only complaint I have is that they keep sending me ads for deals on a vehicle and radio that I have never owned, but that is their marketing department.
