im getting this message on the dashboard (service Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems). 3 days ago i had 2 TPMS replaced and all has been fine and working then today i get that MSG on the dash no other dummy lights just the msg any ideas.

I had this same issue with a replacement sensor. Tried everything that was listed here. The only thing that worked for me was deflating, then rotating, and re-infalting the tires. I had to deflate to almost 5 psi before the vehicle stopped receiving the signal. Also, later I put on a set of factory wheels that I got off a new JKU, with the spare tire deflated, and have had no issues.

Oh, I almost forgot, after rotating and reinflating... I read somewhere that the engine needs to be "on" for upwards of almost 20 minutes for the computer to fully "re-learn" the sensors and their position. The values were reading on the EVIC after only like 2-3 minutes, but I left it "on" while I washed it down.
Hi guys - I just found then joined this GREAT group seeing the amazing level of (free) Jeep knowledge -- FAR beyond what my dealer possesses! I have the same issue. Was it decided you CAN disable message with STARSCAN or not? Problem began months ago with one tire having VERY slow leak. Dealer could not find leak in tire. A local shop discovered psi sensor for that tire had SLOW leak. Replaced sensor and no more leak BUT this dash message appeared (intermittent) I had never seen before. I'm out $300 thus far and shop is now on their own time and money but will not give up even after I said "stop - I'll live with it". Three days ago they said sensor on another tire is bad and is the problem. I said "probability of another sensor failing the exact moment I drove off after replacing leaking sensor in eight year-old Jeep (2006 JGC) is a billion to one". They said "computer says bad sensor - shall we replace it?". I am a computer engineer so I noted to them "computers screw up too - it is unlikely the sensor is really bad but you are so positive I'll go another $171 for second sensor IF it fixes it". Replaced second sensor and, as I expected, did NOT fix problem. AND they could not disable dash message. The psi readings on center readout all correct. Message still intermittent. Other points ditto to earlier posts. I have done all except deflate tires. Would prefer to just turn off message. Possible? Any other ideas? Help! Thanks much. 
They will have to program the new sensor ID's into the Wireless Control Module (WCM) to get the message to go away. I would highly recommend you replace all the sensors so you won't have to endure this issue multiple times. If the battery went out (or you had another problem) on one, the others are probably close behind, especially now that your vehicle is a little over 8 years old. I replaced all mine on my 06 recently when I got new wheels/tires. I had the same problem most are having with the 05-07's.
The problem is with Chrysler/Jeep. The idiots programmed the ID numbers of the original sensors into your Wireless Control Module (also known as SKREEM module) at the factory. They are stored in the non-volatile memory, so the only way to get it changed is go to the dumb a$$ stealer and have them charge you mega $$$ just to change the ID No's in th WCM. You're right though, the new sensors will all work fine, but you'll get that message forever, unless you change the ID's on the new sensors to the ones that were on your original sensors.....or pay to have the ID's in the WCM to reflect your new sensor ID's. Talk about stupid!!
What I have done is purchase Dorman cloneable sensors (all of theirs are now suppose to be) and their cloning tool. You can purchase it as a kit. It'll work on all Dorman sensors (315 and 433 mhz) that are cloneable. Just get the ID's off your original sensors (you can get them read at any tire shop, or buy a reset tool), clone them onto the new ones and your light will go away. I, personally, refuse to go to the stealer and have them fleece me, solely because of their stupidity in designing the system. If you want, go to the dumb stealer and ask how much it'll cost for them to do it for you with their StarScan tool. Add in you inconvenience and hassle of taking it in, and then deduct that from the cost of the kit (again it'll work on all Dorman cloneable sensors) and that'll be your real cost.
Edit: If you don't have the old original sensor(s) you'll have to either go to the stealer and have them get them off the WCM with the StarScan or find someone with a diagnostic tool (such as a Autel MaxiDas DS708) that will read them.

Wow!! No, Wow!!! times ten!!! Your response taking the time you took to help me and the BEYOND amazing grasp of this and your knowledge that blows my dealer away (who I thought was pretty good) almost leaves me speechless. Thank you so so much!! Actually the Jeep dealer gave up after three attempts but only looking for a tire leak (I've not spoken with them again but that they didn't even think to check the sensor really disappoints me with them. They recently "changed" to a new service manager and many of their best techs "went elsewhere". The new manager was manager of their body shop. I've had a few encounters with him there and he always did body repair properly but I was a bit leery after I watched him repaint the entire front of my Jeep just because of a few paint chips. He had a service bulletin that "authorized" dealers to repaint 2006 JGC's in a certain VIN range. Something about potential inadequate primer. I don't think my Jeep had a primer problem so, to me, he took advantage of Jeep. I'm guessing dealership owner hopes he'll do the same "tricks" in service. A way to lose your franchise IMO!

I am not aware of any way to turn the TPMS off. I also would not recommend it, mostly because of liability issues if you had an accident that was tire pressure related and you had the system turned off. I know my tire guys told me that they can't even do tire switches from summer to winter tires if the TPMS doesn't work with the set of tires they're installing.
I know you're already into this debacle for quite a few $$$, but I would still recommend you get a Dorman kit (~$250 with 4 new cloneable sensors), bite the bullet, get the ID No.s off the WCM, and change all the sensors at one time, Here's where I got mine (I see price has just gone up about $10.): Dorman 974-515 MULTi-FIT (315) Universal Programmable Tire Pressure Monitoring System Kit | AmazonSupply.com Granted, all this will probably cost you another ~$300-400, but you'll come away with a new tool and a better understanding of this stupid system. After this is done you'll probably never have a problem again, unless you keep your vehicles forever like I do. Also, remember this tool is good for all 2006 and later vehicles, so chances are you'll be able to use it on future vehicles. Good luck and let us know what you do and how it comes out.

Thank you again. I've concluded you must be an ex-senior engineering manager at Jeep (I say ex only due to your comments about Jeep design). What can I say? Beyond amazing! Jeep REALLY needs to hire you as a design and tech support consultant at what ever (very high) rate you would charge them. If they had a few people like you (or just one - you!) they wouldn't be losing me as a (formerly) loyal life long customer.

So with Jeep Garage I'll at least stay on top of our remaining 2004. If only I had consulted Jeep Garage on my 2006 BEFORE taking it in for repair I wouldn't be left with the mess I have now. Failure at the exact same time is unlikely, but I had three sensors fail on a Tahoe within a week of each other when it was 8 years old.
It's your call but, if it were me, I wouldn't be to hasty to dump the Heep, especially if the rest of it is sound. Personally, I refuse to let these petty issues get the best of me. After all, I made the same mistake you did......my bad. I never thought they (Jeep) would dream up such a dumb system. I thought I'd just change the sensors and be on my way. So, after the fact, it has cost me quite a few $$$ too.....new sensors with wheels/tires, dumb message, research, purchase of sensor reset tool and cloning kit w/new sensors, installation of new sensors. Unfortunately, if you do a search on this issue, you'll find many, many folks with the same problem, but no one seemed to know the answer, including stealers and tire places. I know my tire place was unaware of it. One guy has been running his vehicle with the message coming on for over 4 years, and many others just "live with it".

Actually, I had been thinking of selling it since it is still "low mileage" @ 60K miles even though it is a 2006. I did own a place WAAAAAAY back in the woods in the mountains west of Vail, CO. So I have the Up Country package or whatever they called it in 2006. Skid plates, raised, special shocks etc. etc. BUT I then had Lyme disease I've been battling for years get the best of me and was in bed for almost a year. BTW - if anyone has Lyme - I can help! I've helped thousands of others so much that I had to back away from the whole thing as my name and e-mail was spread EVERYWHERE and I was receiving as many as 500 e-mails and dozens of phone calls a day. There aren't ten doctors in the world who know proper treatment but a thousand plus who will be glad to administer worthless XXX and then clean out your bank account. Anyway, I became more popular than I had hours in a day.
I was finally forced to sell my two active and profitable businesses and "retire". Except I'm busier now than when I ran two companies. I also sold the Colorado home so no more need for a Jeep like I have plus it has been a bit of a lemon. Looking for Subaru AWD Forester as 4WD/AWD will always be a must for me even if just city driving. I WAS going to drive only Jeeps to my last day on earth - can't believe I'm selling it but it generally runs OK right now so best time to sell. Currently the Jeep may sit in the drive for a week untouched where circa 1999 I was putting 100K a year on Jeeps doing back country trips in places even Jeeps aren't meant to go (what fun is life if you haven't almost died at least once a year? - I've made good on that too many times - if I was a cat I'd be on #8 right now so at 67 time to act like an adult (well, not always - I'll save that for age 99 or old age).
Anyway, repair shop owner read all the posts (I think he is joining jeepgarage.org as he couldn't believe the level of knowledge from an "owner" Web site). He agrees best to just return Jeep to me with sensors reporting correct psi but that stupid message still there. I'm out $250 for the early work (i.e. replacing leaking sensor and "flashing" the computer - he thought latest software/firmware would fix it - I know better but I agreed to it so I do owe the money) and he is out well into four figures $$ as he has had one to three techs on this almost full-time for close to a week. Who's at fault? Yes, dog is Toto and wife is Dorothy. Dropping old farm houses on bad witches has become quite a tourist attraction. Except finding volunteer bad witches becoming difficult. They seem to "find religion" when they see the shadow of a house that is above them. Kansas -- interesting state.

Good luck and stay healthy.....and happy. I hear you on the retirement. I retired very early and have not had a "real job" for 24 years. We were caregivers for 3 family members for 10 years and have been heavily into investment real estate for the past 18 years. Funny how when you retire you end up working harder than you did when you were really employed.

I guessed behind the screen name was an ex-chief engineer of Jeep before ownership changes, layoffs and other things that made them a different company (IMO). Yes, we do seem to have much in common. I am also busier now than when I was running two companies I had founded. I did NOT want to retire but a year mostly in bed virtually paralyzed left me no choice.
Lyme disease. I'll post this in case anyone reading wants to hear my story. Otherwise OK to stop reading now. Other than I'm not a Hollywood star this is ME talking (see link at end of post). Except I didn't make a trip to Belgium. Otherwise, this is me! Lyme is HIV/AIDS Deja Vu. No cure however the symptoms are treatable but the relapses are terrible and unpredictable.
Since there is no cure. doctors do NOT want to add new patients with Lyme. I just lost my doctor who was ordered last month to drop all of her patients with Lyme. For her that was over half her patients as she was one of only two doctors in my major city (Kansas City) who knew anything about the disease and ways to return a person to a 95% normal life. Order to cease treating all Lyme patients came from -- you wouldn't believe it so I'll stop at point. The other "Lyme doctor" here "retired" on the spot when he received the same "or else" order. So over a thousand people in the central Midwest with Lyme disease suddenly have no doctor with ANY knowledge of Lyme! MOST patients also have zero medical knowledge so without an LLMD (Lyme Literate MD) most of these 1,000+ people are suddenly in real trouble!
Fortunately (or unfortunately?) I've had Lyme for several decades so I have become as medically educated (just on Lyme) as 99.9% of all doctors. In fact I have had dozens of doctors call me for advice. They and I MUST be careful NEVER to say they took info from a non-MD to treat patients as they'd lose their licenses.
Even though Lyme is suddenly becoming a pandemic with tick population exploding and percentage of ticks that carry Lyme in their saliva increasing from almost none to essentially 100% in just the last five years not one medical school in America teaches a single class on Lyme.
Because of the decades long denial by the AMA and insurance companies that Lyme even exists, the CDC's recent "official" announcement that Lyme DOES exist and that 300,000 Americans are infected (more like up to 10 million people plus several more million will become infected this summer with the explosion of ticks (weather?) they cannot suddenly admit their massive mistake without huge lawsuits, firings, and admission of errors that have actually cost hundreds of lives in worst cases. HIV/AIDS Deja Vu.
Since I know all that is currently known to treat Lyme (more is being learned all the time but still no formal research due to AMA and government blockage) and the few doctors who do treat Lyme patients being proactively pursued and forced to stop treatments or just quit/retire (as the one doctor did here last month), I find myself at the center of a "category 6 hurricane" with literally thousands of very sick people desperate for help seeking me out (even without "MD" after my name) usually after having spent some to most of their net worth on doctors who promise to help but years of expensive treatments and medications never help - when they finally find me I am often literally, to use their words, I see written many times each day "YOU are my last hope! PLEASE help me!".
After helping others increased to where it took over my life, I finally had to stop last Christmas eve. It was one last failed attempt to stop a suicide. I've had many - stopped maybe four in five but having people make you their "last e-mail in life" is very emotionally draining. The lady lived in Warsaw Poland. Christmas Day, after five hours on the phone with the Warsaw police (they had charged her husband with murder - no, she willingly rolled into traffic and was run over - not "pushed by her husband" as a mad neighbor falsely claimed) I emotionally broke from the strain and pulled my book from print and removed my YouTube videos.
I still help those who find me but now only the MOST desperate find me. It is now maybe three a day instead of (a peak of) a thousand a day people all e-mailing or calling (even showing up at my front door!).
Please remember this message as, a few years from now, I predict you will be reading all about "yet another scandal uncovered" in the news when Lyme infections become more common than the common cold. It is exploding this year to where I think that point in time is near just as when HIV/AIDS was "suddenly discovered". No, HIV/AIDS had been known of for YEARS before enough people forced congress to finally address the health issue and the flood gates of money for research, treatment etc. opened up. With HIV/AIDS, it also was the AMA and insurance companies blocking public knowledge and acceptance of the illness to avoid paying HUGE insurance claims for treatment. Court records in the many lawsuits that followed showed they had full knowledge of HIV/AIDS as early as 1962 but literally hid it and, by doing so, had a reason to use when denying claims for treatment that, when added up, was over a billion dollars. AMA and insurance company plus others paid very large fines for their actions but no one went to jail!
As I wrote, Lyme today is HIV/AIDS Deja Vu circa 1990.
As I and others wait for light to be shined on this, people are dying and people are suffering - all needlessly. Until I am mentally ready to return to 20 hour days helping others as I reached last year I anonymously post "Lyme treatment protocols" wherever I can.
This was a long post and I appreciate you reading through it. I hope a search engine picks it up and becomes one more "clue" for people who are sick to the extreme and are among those who just will not give up in finding one of the few people in the country who can help them regain their lives. Find me after days of searching. A fellow in Ohio last week said he had hired a private investigator to find "some guy in Kansas who can help your paralyzed wife". That's the only clue he had. I already have her able to walk (using a walker) but, mostly mentally feeling she has hope of living again. Her husband, without telling her, was concerned enough that he paid to have someone with her 24/7 - basically a "suicide watch". Tragedies beyond what words can describe. He told me today "she smiled this morning for the first time in three years". Life takes unexpected turns. Ten years ago I never would have predicted my situation today in a million years!
To the moderator of this site: even though (perhaps) this might be picked up by a search engine and end up saving lives if it is "off subject - (not about Jeeps) even though it began as a Jeep problem" but "rules" dictate it be removed, I fully understand. Just hit delete and please accept my apologies. I will not post again (other than about Jeeps).
Other than that, I am finally pleased to be retired! I tried rental real estate in the 80's but my timing was off (timing in investments is everything but you know that) and I sold everything after ten years barely breaking even cash on cash but that doesn't include the many 2 AM calls from a tenant after a child has flushed a tennis ball down a toilet (for the third time!). If it wasn't for tenants and the maintenance, rental property would have been a good investment! I tried REIT's and hiring managers but their fees ate up 100% of any profits that showed up! Closest I get now is to buy develop-able timber land. Meaning land with trees good for sturdy lumber on land near suburbs that would become more valuable if the area grows and the land becomes more valuable as land for houses, shopping malls etc.
There are only a few NYSE firms who mostly own this type of land as a business and the investments have all worked out thus far (stock prices keep going up as trees keep growing). They should be mostly market crash resistant but not yet tested - a market drop will happen eventually. Just don't know when - no one knows! With assets that just keep growing and will not go away even in an economic Depression I HOPE my thinking is correct and that trees "weather the storm!". Play on words I guess - sorry.
Thanks again and hope this long winded post didn't keep you from a nice long "retirement nap" which I think I will go do! Jeep back in the garage safe and sound and with my now infamous dash display message stuck on for good! Boy! I was an electronics design engineer for years. If I had produced a design with parts intended to wear out and would cost the end user $1,000+ just to replace a simple sensor I would have been fired!

Quick backstory - replaced all 4 wheels and tires. Approx a week after, I'm getting the SERV TPMS message. All 4 sensors are transmitting the correct tire pressures however, the error message is still displayed. I have been to the tire shop 3 times to have them try to "relearn" the sensors, etc. No luck.
Here's my Question: Since I am taking it to the dealer, is there anything I should bring up to them or specifically point out to them?
It's a 2012 WK2 - approx 32k on the clock. I am the second owner.
Any help would be appreciated and FWIW, that's an amazing story about Lyme - I found it more interesting than tire pressure monitoring systems!!

Have the same message and unable to clear with the 18" wheels on 2014 GC LTD. Replace the standard 20" wheels with 18" when towing as it could be difficult to replace 20" in outback AU. Dealership has had 2 goes at reprograming wheels and believe that it's a wheel rim mismatch? as all sensors are giving out the correct data but fault reappears after a few KM's, OK with 20" on. 18" are a set from a Laredo GC 2012 with the correct part number sensors fitted. All operates fine just the warning light as tyre pressure readings are correct and checked for each wheel.
I can't imagine that Jeep is still using the same system they had in 2005-2007 but, if they are, just have them make sure that the TPMS sensor ID numbers for each of your wheels (and spare) are the same as the sensor ID's that are loaded into the WCM. If they're not, the stealer can program your new sensor ID's into the WCM using his StarScan tool.
Again, if it's the same system as the early ones, here's what I would do:
1. Read (requires tire dismount or a diagnostic tool that reads the sensors) or have read the Sensor ID's off the wheels that are on the vehicle, including the spare. You should be able to get this done for little or nothing at your local tire shop. Write them all down (including wheel position) and keep this info. as long as these sensors are on the vehicle.
2. If you must, go to the stealer and have them read the ID's that are programmed into the WCM. If they don't match, have them program the ID's you just got from the tire shop into the WCM. If the systems are the same as the early ones, this will turn your message off.
3. You may also want to check a few different tire places to see if any of them have the capability to reprogram the WCM. Since more and more TPMS Sensors on these things are going bad (mostly battery life), more of the tire shops are finding out that the system doesn't reset itself, and either the new sensors need to be cloned to the WCM, or the WCM needs to be reprogrammed. I think I said earlier, I have an Autel MaxiDas DS708 diagnostic tool that has the capability to reprogram the WCM.
Good luck, and let us know how it goes.

Since folks were nice enough to reply to my post, I wanted to make sure I followed up with everyone.
My Appt at the dealer was yesterday. Up until Tuesday of last week, I was getting the TPMS message every time I started the car. The warning flashed for a bit, then stayed on the whole time the car was running. On Wednesday, when I drove to work in the morning, no light. Furthermore it didn't come on in the evening and hasn't been on since. I called the dealer to ask what to do...they suggested I bring it in anyway. So I did.
My "Advisor" said it could take 2 weeks for the system to recalibrate but that they would check them anyway. They said they're fine.
I did get clipped for about $400 for Front & Rear differential Service and transfer case service. In addition, there were 6 software updates but those were covered under the warranty. The dealer said I was due for new plugs very soon, which I thought was odd but I doubt I'll take it back there.
I just wanted to say thank you to every one. The knowledge shared made me feel confident that I would get my issue resolved...even though it ended up taking care of itself.
