I saw the link but I want to only confirm if is safe to load new17.x.x. software to 2015 GC with 15.x.x which VIN has no updates on official site.
Can't guarantee it, but if it's not the right software, it usually won't load, and you'll get an "incompatible" error code.

Did you read the second part of the post? If you're worried about the download, private message JeepCares with your VIN and email.

I just ran the 17.43.01_MY14 and essentially bricked my unit. It gets stuck on step 11 and says 'Sierra Wireless: bolo file install failed. Please remove USB stick to reset"

It's in an endless loop now and won't install and won't do anything.

I tried some stuff I found googling by pulling the USB while it's mounting. No Dice. I currently unplugged the battery and am waiting 30 mins to plug it back in and hoping that will reset.

I will keep everyone posted. Anyone else have this happen?

Update: After unplugging the battery, waiting 30 minutes, and turning the car on, the message came back. I still had the USB in the drive and it WORKED. It went through the entire installation and finished. So odd.

Went to the site, https://www.driveuconnect.com/support/software-update.html, and entered the VIN from my vehicle, I then downloaded the follwing zip file and then transferred the contents to a memory stick, UCONNECT_8.4AN_RA4_17.43.01_MY15_NAFTA

See the attached image of the message I get from my radio.

'System Product Mismatch, stick contains VP4 but target is VP3. Please remove USB stick to rest'

Note that there are 7 pages of this thread and several other threads dealing with this problem. Contact JEEPCARES here with a PM and include the details you just posted, the year of your vehicle and the VIN along with your email address.

Not sure about your country, but US/NAFTA region radios that have nav are RA4, those without nav are RA3. RA3 radios can have nav added by dealer, but it's a costly update option. I would say you have a RA4 radio.

It's also possible your region isn't getting any update, and that's why your vin doesn't show an available update on the website.

edit: Looking at your software version (15.17.5), I assume you are in Europe, which would change RA3/RA4 to RG3/RG4. That would be a completely different string of updates. If you look at the link I posted in post #71, you will see Europe software files for RG3/RG4 radios. That is probably where you should be looking for your updates. Your next update would be 16.16.13, then 17.09.07. I believe that is that last update available for EU radios.

I think you are right. no update for my country. but is it possible to update files 17.x.x from previous threat and add APPs icon?
Check my edit to post #90.

I am looking for some help regarding the recent UConnect update that I installed via USB to my 2014 Grand Cherokee Overland.

Previous to installing the update my stereo (Alpine, 9 speaker), had plenty of volume and bass response; after the update I have less than half of the volume and very little bass response, the subwoofer is barely functioning from what I can determine when I put my ear close to it. I have tried adjusting the equalizer, surround sound, and other audio options to no avail.

Is there any reason that I would have lost most of the sound volume and bass response after the update?

Is there anything I can do to get it back?

Thanx to anyone who might know!

Great thread, just updated my 2015 Summit to 17.43.01 without issues. Only thing I noticed is I have to recalibrate my Nav system. Don't know if it fixed my caller ID problem but will check in the next day or so.

I hope someone posts an answer as I have a 2014 JGC Overland and have not put this update on. However...I just ordered the 2014-2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee GPS Navigation 8.4 4C NAV UAQ Radio with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto from Infotainment and will be installing it next week...along with the harness necessary for my MY14 and the new USB module. Since my Jeep is getting recalls done, they put me in a 2017 JGC Laredo with the new headunit so I got a chance to play with it. It is MUCH slicker, the Android Auto is great, and so I went ahead and bought it. About $1,647 with the "summer5" 5% off promotion. Install looks easy on Youtube. Hell...i did THIS with my FX35 myself: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NIeiBf33cQA I will keep you posted

Just installed the 17.43.01 update to the 2014 Summit (and the 2017 Ram), and no problems were encountered... not even any issues. :) Both seemed to work with the 17.11.__ software, so maybe mine didn't really need it (or maybe it did, but I just didn't notice).

Just updated my 14 SRT from 16-13-13 to sox's 17.11 so that i could get to 17.43. Lost my SRT pages. Super frustrating. Have sent a PM to Jeepcares to see what to do next. Maybe revert back to 16.13.13?
Give it a few cycles, and things might straighten themselves out.
