On my Summit the wiring that goes from the rear axle to the front runs inside a really narrow, black, plastic box residing on the inner side of the pinch weld on the passenger side (part number for the wiring seems to be 68410418AD).
Here is how a section of it looks like.
Now that plastic box is actually sticking out significantly lower than the pinch weld. It completely hides the pinch weld on the pic above. That being the case it is a prime candidate for taking damage when offroading.
I was contemplating on some kind of protection for that area anyways and today I manoeuvred over a low profile concrete flower pot on a parking lot and damaged just that part.
I have done quite some research and I cannot find a skid plate that covers this particular area. Maybe rock sliders could offer a lower point to catch hits but that won't be 100%.
So is anyone aware of any kind of protection that would cover that area?
