Use a PC and ensure you format the USB drive to NTFS. A lot of people experience errors when trying to use a Mac or any other formatting.

 

According to website, FAT32 seems to be the LCD (for PC or MAC)

And since file comes in as ZIP, needs to be extracted. Can be done directly to USB; only files no folders on USB.

Is this not addressed in regular 'over the air' system updates? EG you have to DIY the map system update?

 

Not that I’ve experienced so far, but I’m less than a year in so not sure.

 

Weird that you'd have to do this manually in 2025, but nice that it's free.

 

It's a ton of data if they were to push but out OTA to everyone. If you have the subscription plan, it'll update the local area you're currently driving in OTA, but won't do the full base map. Do the full base map manually and everything will work that much better.

Stellantis/UConnect5 is actually one of the leaders in this area, believe it or not!

 

Good points, good to know. I just wish I could input addresses while driving. I usually use google maps instead b/c I'm not stopping on the side of the road to punch it into the screen, and the voice-text has a hard time with address conversion.
