I am seeking opinions on Weather Tech Floor LINERS verses Husky Floor LINERS. Which manufacture in your opinion has better fit and quality for a 2014 Cherokee.
Any info is appreciated.

No doubt the Husky Liner is a better fit. They cover much more carpet then Weather Tech, IMO they have a far superior product for the Trailhawk.

 

Its been my experience that Weathertechs offer more coverage, are a little thicker, and look better. Huskys are a little cheaper. They are both very close though, the above items aren't separated by much margin. Both fit pretty well. Cant go wrong either way.

 

I ordered the Weatehrtechs. They have arrived, but my Cherokee hasn't....

 

The Weather tech mats don't cover as much carpet as Husky mats do, the Husky liner covers the foot rest completely and farther back behind the foot pedals on drivers side, and cover farther back on passenger side as well. Check a pic of someone's weather tech matts. Dirt all on his carpet which makes for extra cleaning. But hey JMO tho

Indeed the huskys have better coverage.

 

Husky's may have better coverage but unless they have improved the quality/thickness of the liner they will cup and roll in a few months. Has been an issue with their liners now for years and why I stopped using them. Weathertech liners are thick and rugged and hold their shape which is why I use them now.

Those comments are general. No experience in a Cherokee.

 

Ordered and installed Husky Cargo Line for my 2014 Cherokee Limited. Very snug fit and I am happy with the quality of the Husky product. Never used WetherTech so I can't compare the two. For my money you can't go wrong with Husky.

 

I can't comment on Husky. I hate the weathertech I bought for my son's Explorer. I bought the Mopar rubber mats for my Jeep and they are far better, and much less money.

 

Really? A lot less coverage than the weathertechs or huskys. I have them, and they work fine, but definitely dont cover much real estate, which is fine for many, but I get dirty and my feet wander all over the footwells, dont want it in my carpets.
What exactly did you hate about them?

Perfect coverage if you ask me.

Not sure about guys who say poor coverage because mine fit fine.
Covers the entire carpet under the pedals, and back to under the driver's seat, and covers the sill plate to dead pedal area.

Whats not to like?

 

Does anyone have any pictures of the Husky liners in a Cherokee yet? With the terrible winter here in NY, the rubber Mopar mats are not providing much protection. definitely want something that goes up the sides a little bit, and protects further back up the footrest. I have used Weathertech in my last 2 vehicles and was relatively happy with them. Just curious as to how the Huskys match up.

 

The huskyliner covers the foot rest area significantly more than any other.

 

IMO try to wait until Husky makes the new X-Act Contours for your Cherokee. They fit like a liner, but are made of mat material meaning they are not slippery or rigid. I had the Mopar slush mats for 2 winters in my WK2 and bought the X-Act Contours last month. The Mopar were very good. The X-Acts are better.

Thanks! I like the X-act ones, but I guess they still don't have them for the new Cherokees. I also only want a pair for the front. I don't want to spend the extra money for the rear ones and it doesn't look like I can buy the front and back separately with Huskyliner's weatherbeater ones. Guess I'll have to wait a while.

 

I would go with the weathertechs. I have owned both (a couple times ;-), and the curling issue with the huskys means I will never get them again. That, along with the weathertechs using a less slippery plastic (live in Edmonton so quite often the water will freeze overnight) gives the feel of better quality.

 

I have had the weathertechs in my last 3 vehicles. While I always liked them, I felt they didn't go far enough up under the pedals towards the firewall and didn't cover enough of the foot rest pad. I had never heard of the Huskyliners until this forum. Never seen a commercial on TV for them or anything here, only see the Weathertechs. The X-act mats look like they are made as sturdy as the Weathertechs are, but again, the Husky site only affers the full set of front and rear on their other mats. Don't need rears, so I may just have to go with the Weathertechs.

 

Got my Husky X-Act Contours from Amazon... cheaper than Husky site and free shipping. Front and rear are sold separately. I bought just the front set as the Mopar I have a good enough for rear which sees little use.

 

But those aren't for the 2014 Cherokee. They don't yet have them available for the new Cherokees.

 

You are correct. I just provided information as to what they are and the fact that you can buy the front set only if desired.
Considering the high sales of the new Cherokee, I would expect the X-Act Contours soon. Why don't you call Husky and ask them?:thumbsup:

 

In case anyone was wondering, I contacted Husky Liner about the X-Act Contour Floor mats for the '14 Cherokee. This simple sentence was their response.

"No immediate plans for the X-act Cotour product.

Thanks for your interest!"

So.... that kind of sucks. Love the fact that they spelled Contour incorrectly in their reply too lol.

 

I ordered my KL in December, 2013. Because I never expected a 5 month delay in receiving the vehicle and not knowing about the Husky brand, I ordered a full set of WeatherTech mats right away for the winter season even before joining this forum.

Now that I have the Cherokee (since last Friday), I have installed the mats. I provide these pics for anyone interested.

Yes, me too! I have the full Husky set in my Jeep & the full Weathertec set in my Xterra. I like the Husky Weatherbeater set a lot more! They fit nicer, look nicer, cover more and cost less. What else can I say? :thumbsup:

 

I ended getting Weather Tech Floor Liners and am VERY happy with them!!! They are working GREAT.
