Hey guys,

Bout to pull the trigger on a 2015 Altitude. Was just wondering if recently purchased 2015s are still experiencing the Transmission issues or they have been resolved by now. Any other issues that have been experienced will be greatly received.

Also when walking into the dealership how should i ask and what should i ask about the TBS and if they have been performed?

Thanks guys!!

I Have a 2015 Altitude III, built June 26. I have about 2,000 miles on it and have had no transmission issues. There were a couple of slightly rough downshifts the first day or two but those cleared up. I've heard the transmission adapts to your driving style. It's very smooth.

There was a transmission flash TSB for vehicles built before June 12, if the one you are looking at is that old.

At 39,000 or so miles the transmission began to misbehave and soon failed. Under warranty, the transmission valve body was repaired or replaced. At 41,000 miles the transmission failed again. Jeep then replaced the transmission with a remanufactured transmission under warranty. No problems since then, but I always fear another breakdown. I will certainly sell or trade in the Jeep before the 60,000 mile warranty ends.

I have a V8 with the 8-Speed ZF transmission.

It is considered by most to be THE best transmission currently available. So far mine has been excellent, except for an infrequent "thud" and some issues when the vehicle is cold & first started. Once she is warmed up, everything works has it should.

There is a TSB that I could have done that would probably minimize or eliminate the few issues I currently have. But to be honest, the issues are so minor that I'm worried that any "fix" will do more harm then good.

I just picked a 2015 granite altitude 2 weeks ago. It only has 400 miles on but it is running smooth.
