I actually like the look of the amber.

 

I’ve only seen threads for pro amber. Interesting. The idea is having both. Running lights amber, general drl white.

 

I remember the day's of yore when you could be cool and run your parking lights at dusk. ...

We called that running with "The cool lights on". Back in the 80s...

 

I remember the day's of yore when you could be cool and run your parking lights at dusk. From everything I can gather it is not possible without programming thru the OBD port. I did hear a rumor that HA pkg can do this? I have a call into OBD-Genie and they are looking onto it for me and/or assessing the need for adding the WL - Amber DLR to their products.

I've got a HA and can only get my ambers on with hazards.

 

I've got a limited and the ambers are on anytime the lights are on. Would be cool as OP suggests to have them on even when the lights are off, i.e. as DRLs looking exactly like the picture he posted.

 

If you wanted the DRL's on without the lights on I thought you could turn that setting on/off in the uconnect settings. I turned my setting to off so they were only one when my headlights are on.

 

I want the ability to do all 4!

 

Any word from OBD-Genie? I would like Amber DRLs on my 2022 Trailhawk 4Xe.

I talked to him again last week and sent pictures of what we need. I will call him back next week to check back and see what he says. If more people call and request I think that helps our cause. If so inclined give tech support a call and inquire too. I just want my parking lights to be Amber and keep the DRL white.

 

What's weird is when I remote start my 23 Limited, only the Amber strips are on. Once I press start, then the headlights trade places with the ambers.

 

Yeah, I don't want to be fiddling with switches every day just to have a look. Auto headlights are so useful.

Related but tangential, I'm.seeing more people than ever driving without their lights on at night. I believe it is because of manual switching like this as well as because the dash is lit up always, and DRLs provide some light. I'll come up behind completely dark vehicles from the rear often.

This problem got so bad in Canada they took away our headlight off switch position

It's too bad the parking lamps don't auto cancel when you open the driver's door after shutting down like a lot of imports do. It'd be a lot easier to do the amber thing on the trims that have it.

 

Is there an aftermarket option for white led bulb to replace the amber ?

 

There's a way to to get this done. First you would have to go and order a sequential turn signal strip from EBAY , then you would have to take to a shop where they can open up the headlights and put the turn signal strip in.

 

can anyone confirm that the OBDGENIE works for the JGC 2023
