As an alternative to installing a brake controller remote head in the center console, which requires extensive disassembly, I decided to mount it in the headlight switch housing. This way I also didn't have to give up my 12V adapter or HDMI port. I have the Redarc, but this would work identically for the Mopar unit, except possibly for the size of the drilled hole.
These are the abbreviated steps I used. Feel free to DM me with questions or post here.
Trace the outline of panel before you remove the switch housing and then the outline of the remote head knob.
I placed a couple of concentric washers in the circle to sneak up on the center.
If you have a vise, you can mount the switch housing lightly in it to hold it still while you're drawing and drilling. Otherwise it can be a little tippy to work with.

- Remove the fabric cover under the steering column, driver side center console side panel, and the solid panel under the steering wheel with the headlight switch housing (steps 4,5,7, and 8 in the excerpted PDF instructions from Mopar). Note: you don't have to remove the last panel entirely, you can keep the wires connected and just drop it down to access the switch housing.
- Use a pencil to trace around the outside of the switch housing before you remove it so you will know where you can locate the remote head without the knob overlapping the panel the housing is mounted in.
- Unscrew, disconnect, and remove the headlight switch housing from the panel.
- Trace the outline of the knob in the desired location making sure to leave a small space between it and the traced outline of the panel.
- Find and mark the center. I used two washers placed concentrically inside the circle to zero in on it.
- Drill a 3/8" or 10mm hole. It's actually 10mm, but I used 3/8" which was snug and worked perfectly. Use a quality drill bit, preferably a brad point or forstner bit so as to make a clean hole.
- Mount the remote head in the new hole, connect up and mount the brake controller module, put it back together, and you're done.
- Read through to step 62 to see how much fun you missed by doing this the easy way
