It misses you.

There are a few folks reporting the same problem. Of course the first thing to check is that the other key fob isn't in the vehicle.

I don't remember seeing a solution to the problem.

It beeps three times because the alarm has gone off. Mine will do that is the alarm was activated when I was gone and it also disables the remote start.

 

I think i found the problem after some investigating! If you are still sitting in the driver seat and you open the door and hit the lock button on the door then get out and shut the door, it still thinks the key pod is in the car. Or it could be that it misses me! Thank you for the quick responses.

 

I'm sorry to say, I don't have the answer cause mine does the same thing;
not all the time but about 1 out of 10 or 12 times it happens. I will be watching
to see if you get a good answer.

Boy these 2014's sure do have some strange electrical problems. And to top it off, Chrysler doesn't have a clue how to hunt down the problems.

I was just at the Jeep dealers today to get an update program in my radio.
I also told them to check out the three beeps and unlocking. After about 45 minutes the service person and the tech person came to me. My radio was updated and my car was ready to go. The tech said the reason the car unlocks is because the key is in the car. I said the key fob is in my pocket,
not in the car. He said but you got two keys when you got your car. I said yes, but the other key is in my wife's purse at home. Then he didn't know what to say. "well, I don't know". So like someone else said, nobody at
Jeep knows why it happens either.

 

I had a similar problem With mine after the oil change! Turned out to be hood latch sensor had been broken, probably by mech. They replaced it and was fine!

Mine also does this infrequently. I almost always use the inside door lock button to lock the vehicle and I've noticed that every time it does happen, I'm sitting in the car, hit the button and then delay getting out for a short bit. I think the interior sensors don't realize the key has exited the vehicle when the door is shut.

 

I have the same prblms with it unlocking itself randomly and when I lock it it unlocks drives me nuts!! Nobody seems to know why or what

 

This is a feature and working as designed. Essentially, they don't want you accidentally locking yourself out of the car.

I busted out my manual, and found the following. If "A lock request is made by the door panel switch while the door is open", it goes on to say "after all open doors are shut, the FOBIK-Safe search will be executed. If it finds a Passive Entry key fob inside the car, the car will unlock and alert the customer". It will not automatically unlock and alert as long as the key fob is not within 5 ft of a Passive Entry door handle.

The recommended ways to lock the car is to either use the key fob button or the button on the exterior door handle.
