I have considered purchasing this, but I thought I saw that it does not work correctly unless you very specifically use Internet Explorer on Windows (i.e. it uses horrible systems like ActiveX). Is that the case?

The search function on the CD is nice and i usually prefer things electronic but a service manual is just something i would rather have in print and with me in the garage.

I agree, but I *definitely* don't want to have to fire up a Windows virtual machine just to use a glorified service manual. At the very least I want to be able to generate PDFs of the relevant sections that I can be certain will print out nicely to take to the garage and scribble notes on as I work. Is that doable with this product?

Also, does it have comprehensive coverage of all the models & trims? For example, if it doesn't include the engine & body service details for a Summit EcoDiesel it would just be a waste of money for me.

 

Does any one have much experience with the service manual CD? Is it worth the $135?

 

For $135 it ought to be printed.

Quite frankly, for those numbers I think it should come in both formats. I as well, am used to paper tech manuals for maintenance; (that's how we did it on 35+ year old helicopters in the Marines 15 years ago.)

lol well the table didn't cut and past very well but the torque values are actually arranged in nice easy to read tables

 

I bought the 2011-2015 pdf version on ebay for under $10.00 but the problem is it really is for the 2011 and the 15 is close, the real pain is it is over 12,000 pages and there is no index so you spend a lot of time scrolling. Tons of info though.

 

I thought I read somewhere the cd version didn't include wiring diagrams?

 

Can anyone confirm this? I'm buying the disc specifically for a wiring diagram. At least at this point...

 

My '14 techauthority CD doesn't have wiring diagrams. I don't know if later versions added them.

 

Does yours have a version number or something on it? They usually include a rev.
