Mike, I was wondering what your nav version number is with the latest update. My Oct. '18 update was v10. I'm assuming yours now shows v11.

Just returned from a 1700 mile trip to Colonial Williamsburg and then down to North Carolina to visit friends and back to Cincinnati. The new map worked fine and even showed all the driving tour trails at Yorktown Battlefield. I encountered no problems at all.

Well I checked Uconnect® | Navigation System GPS Map Update Home again today an for a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee; it says that I have the latest version. Did not ask for any information other than model and year:( Any other way to check for this?
Yea, seems kind of pathetic system.

My system indicates Content_NA_HM_17Q2 for the current map - surely there must be something newer? But then map updates seem very nonexistent since we owned a Jeep. :(

Last map update I did did not show up as available until I updated the uconnect which was a 2 part update, which got completed with some difficulty by dealer and the the map update I ordered was able to be installed then.

So the map update "could" be hidden because of a uconnect update needed first, just a tip because of what I ran into. ( proactive feedback :) )

The last several map updates have required the latest UConnect software to be installed.

Yes, this all checks out. Just bought the update for my 2015 WK2, installed map said 2016Q4, after installation finished it says 2018Q2. Dunno if this was good use of money in my case :) Needed to install 18.45.01 as a prerequisite for this update.

What is idiotic is when I go to the website and enter my info, I get: "Our records indicate you have the most recent map update for your vehicle. Please check back soon for a map update product."??

Seriously?

Newer map and older software???
Hey John—Re: your question above...(and I believe back in line with the OPs original concept for this thread)...Yes as odd as it seems, that is correct.

The MY18 JGC has a Panasonic UAQ head unit. The MY20 JGC (and MY19) has a Panasonic UAV head unit. To the user, they look almost identical, but they do run different system versions.

For whatever reason, Uconnect and HERE still have not released any maps for purchase for the MY18 JGC’s UAQ head unit. They have, however, released new maps for the MY19/20 JGCs UAV head unit. No idea why there’s no love for the MY18s.

If Jeep Cares is listening—possibly they can explain why (only) MY18 JGC owners still cannot purchase new maps to update their 4C 8.4 Panasonic UAQs original, old 2016/2017 maps??

This is great.... if you now go to the Uconnect/HERE website looking for a MY2018 JGC map update, it shows the RA3–>RA4 NAV activation for $595. ~sigh~

Jeepcares, when will MY2018 4C UAQ head unit owners be able to update their maps? Appreciate any guidance here.

I just checked the Uconnect site again and for the first time ever, punching in 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee now shows a map update is available. Entering my application version came back with v3 ASO. Just ordered (on sale - $99) and will post back results of install.

MIAGTO-

I am curious as to which application version you entered. I entered mine which is USA-IR-22.61.0-20200907-I0FF and it came back software up to date. I have the UAQ 4C with navigation. Model year 2018 JGC Overland.

RKlimas—I have a MY2014 running a MY2018 UAQ with app version 28.3. (where yours is app version 22.6)

A few months ago, I had ordered the 2020 maps for a MY2019 after punching in my USA-ASO-8.4-MR-28.3-xxxx app version, and the maps they sent me was a different part number from the maps they are sending to me this time for the MY2018. The MY2019 system update/maps did not work for me and I returned them for a refund. They may send a system update for the MY2018 with the new maps. We’ll see what the update version is, as that will likely be the app version baseline required for the new maps. And, hopefully they work for me this time.

It’s going to be interesting because MY2018 UAQs are supposed to be running 21.9, 22.5 or 22.6 (via OTA) and some of us aren’t running those versions.

Edit: The notes for the MY2018 maps says requires the following minimum versions. IR shows 22.64+, where yours is 22.61. Odd. See below

MIAGTO-

Thanks for the information. I received an OTA software update to 22.61 in February 2021. In the notes on Here Navigation, a new software update is to be released by the end of June (assume 2021). Hopefully, that kicks me up the ladder.

Thanks again for the information.
