The upper attachment point to the body broke off, looks like corrosion to the ball bolt. Do not see a way to remove the bolt, no straight line access. Anyone have this happen or recommend a method to repair? Dealer said it is not repairable o_O TIA

It sits in a recess around the hatch opening, no access for an extractor. The red in the picture is permanent thread lock, it ain't coming out with a screwdriver. Found a body shop that says they can do it for $500. Removed the actuator instead for a while.

I had this happen to my 2021 model, snapped off one day opening the boot.
I ended up getting a company in called Captain Thread and they extracted and then replaced, I tried all sorts of ways and then admitted defeat, it took him about 45mins to fix, I was happy with the end result, the bolt was corroded and snapped off at the exact same spot.
My dealer was helpful enough to get the part in for me, but said they wouldn’t do this job themselves.

Unfortunately, no Captain Thread in the USA. :(
