Hi everyone. I'm a new owner of a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee overland. I bought this vehicle on Sept 7th. I drove it home and the next day the light up saying ACC/FCW UNAVAILABLE, and Service 4wd. If you turn the vehicle off and turn it back on the codes will clear. But they come back. I returned it to the Subaru dealership where I purchased it from. They had it for 2 1/2 weeks. They said they tightened a connection on the transfer case, cleaned some connections and gave it back to me. The next morning. The same warnings. I took it back. This time they replaced the wire harness that runs through the firewall, and the module on the rear differential. I got it back. Drove it a mile and the same warning lights. Can anyo e give me any idea where this issue may be coming from because I am at my wit's end and have no clue where to turn?

You think you can get the dealership to take a look at mine??? My transfer case has a 150,000 mile warranty... I've begged several dealerships to look into it. No luck even though it has symptoms of a bad transfer case

Thank you for contacting our team. As the Customer Care Team, we are not mechanically trained and therefore we rely on the diagnosis of the dealer. We can certainly have a case escalated for additional support while you are in service. We understand your hesitations of making an appointment at this time, but we recommend calling your local Jeep service department to discuss the concerns with a service advisor. Please let us know if you are in need of additional support while in service.

I have contacted my local Jeep dealer with appt scheduled for tomorrow am. However they can't guarantee a rental vehicle and said there are no recalls at this time. I was on the freeway to pick up my husband who had surgery. All of a sudden my car started jerking and trying to skid. The car skid icon was flashing on and off. Speed was greatly reduced and not by me. Thought car was going to stall. Then the ACC/FCW flashed on again and once that went off, then the car drove fine and was able to pick up speed. Had to leave my car idling while waiting to PU my hubby. Drove home ok but concerned if I try to drive to dealership tomorrow.

Simple fix , the ACC/FCW alert basically means your FCW ( Forward Collision Warning) sensor in the front of your vehicle is dirty. The small round sensor at bottom of front bumper that senses vehicles in front of you when cruise control is on or for safety automatic braking when you get to close to a vehicle slowing down all of a sudden.

Same problem with 2015 GC ...has anyone fixed their issue?

UPDATE: Issue resolved. I went into reverse slowly and heard thump of transfer case disengaging. My next step in troubleshooting was going to be checking the owner manual for steps to engage/disengage 4WD, but I'm going to assume that it was somehow switched by accident.

I'm still scratching my head as to why the interface wasn't showing that it was in 4WD? No light on the selector, and dash did not indicate the 4WD selection. Hopefully Jeep has fixed this in newer versions... ¯\(ツ)

Hello,

My 2017 jeep grand cherokee started having this issue 3 weeks ago. Took it to the dealer, they kept the car for 5 days. I was told they couldn't duplicate the issue after resetting the computer. They said it was probably a software issue and all they did was update the software. Picked the car up and 2 days later all the warnings came up. Took it back to the same jeep dealer, they kept the car for 7 days this time. I was told the same thing. They reset the warnings, tried to duplicate the issue and they had no luck according to them. This time they decided to clean all the ground points on the vehicle because they were corroded. Picked the car up again, drove less than a mile and all the lights came back up once again. Turned around right away and dropped off the jeep once again. All the service advisor can say is that they will take care of me. Well I was charged for the software update because according to them that's not covered under warranty, then on top of that I can't get a loaner because they don't have any. I've been with no car for 2 weeks already. Dropped the car off on Tuesday and I haven't heard anything from them.

2015 SRT here same issue. All of a sudden service 4wd system, no tc, no cruise control as well.
When I turn the car off then on the issue goes away. If the car sits for a while the issue goes back.
Took it to a shop, the scanner showed multiple codes relating to ABS, ELSD, and DTCM. The shop wanted me to leave the car to check connections before starting to change parts but I was in a hurry. They suspect most likely the transfer case control module (under driver seat) since there are multiple codes with no apparent mechanical issues (car drives great after a restart).
I will take the car back to the shop to confirm it's not some loose/corroded connections.

Hello all,

I am here to ask if there is a solution to this problem? It seems as if there should be an answer since this has happened to be an issue many others are experiencing (and imagine all those that have come here and have not made accounts to tell their tale). Seems to me it's not good business to chalk it to up to other issues and have drivers without vehicles for weeks on end and hundreds dropped out of customers pockets to just have this issue pop up after driving a few miles out the dealership.

Thus comes my story. My accessory battery went out and I paid for and installed the new battery. This is where my story truely starts. When I took it in I mentioned I had the FCW/ESS issue many others are experiencing along with the service 4WD light. I take it to the dealer and of course they couldn't replicate it but they charged me 200 bucks to tell me I didn't tighten the nuts on my battery (have a hard time believing this). I took the L but was happy cause the lights were all off. NOPE. I get home 10 miles later and all lights are back on minus auto start/stop (which was why i originallytook the vehicle to the dealer but with the understanding to find out why the other lights came on). After that service the lights only come on periodically but when it comes on man is it bad. Can't reverse (gear doesn't shift just revs) when turning the wheel to sharp left the vehicle shutters like it will stall, the hard clunking on 2nd gear. Idling and car shaking, etc. I got a call from my dealer that it's likely the transfer case however when I dropped it off the other day I dropped it off with all lights on and they were able to pull some codes and that it could be electrical. I've seen videos online that state this is a module issue and don't be scammed by new transfer case purchase. However something has to give. How have dealerships not been made aware of this issue? I also have a 17 gc trailhawk.

2015 Overland same faults, ACC/FCW Fails and Service 4WD System. Other fault, clicking and thump noise when in reverse and accelerating from stop. Have ordered a TCM and Transfer Case Motor, putting in this week. Will update if it fixes.

Fixed - Replaced transfer control module, 100kms tested all working, changing gears smoothly and cruise control / fcw message cleared and functions tested and working ok.

I have a 2015 Cherokee Trailhawk. I have been to the dealership repeatedly for recalls that were "fixed". I still have the horrible leak in the hatch area. Now my electronic parking brake is messed up from the standing water. This morning I got in to come to work, the Airbag light, Service 4wd (which is due to a bad PTU that was flashed), Cruise control and Front Collision service light on, Parking Brake service light on, Auto start/ stop light on. I reached out to jeep (haha) they basically told me that the recalls were "fixed" and now it will be out of my own pocket. I am disgusted I have a vehicle that I am paying for and it is literally falling apart OVERNIGHT. I am looking at Broncos and 4Runners as I type this because Jeep Cares is a freaking joke.

I'm having the same trouble with my 2015 overland diesel, may be a coincidence but this all started shortly after I had it in for a recall 'fix' for the crank angle sensor (I think it was. On road atm so can't double check) before that trouble free motoring...

Really needs to be a recall for this problem with the amount of people having the same troubles...

I have a 2015 GC summit and am having identical issues as everyone else on here… it is at the dealership now being repaired. Was told it was the transfer case, then told today after replacing the transfer case DTCM is also broke. So now that is going to be replaced as well. I’d have no real problem except I see everyone else have the same issue with little to no closure. I am hoping this resolves the issue, but am concerned that I will bring it home and have the same problem.
