Update, Got my Jeep back, I was lucky and was covered by my extended warranty. What I would like to say is they replaced the transfer case and still had the same problem. They then replaced the drive train control module, and like magic it was fixed. So I have no idea if the transfer case was bad or not, but it was the DTCM that ended up resolving the issue (so far, I just recently got it back). So in any case, especially people who don’t have the warranty I would start with the DTCM and see if that is what’s causing all the problems. Would save you you a few thousand dollars

I have to ACC/FCC sensor at front of my 2015 Summit. Damaged and is works on and off. It seems they go hand in hand as they both are triggered at same time. I was also told I might need to change transfer case control module too. We will see.

My FCC/ACC is damaged and works on and off and triggers both 4 wheel drive and ACC/FCC service required when not working. Both are triggered at same time so we think they are tied together somehow. It is safe to drive. I was informed after we fix forward sensor we might have to change transfer case control module too.

2015 Overland same faults, ACC/FCW Fails and Service 4WD System. Other fault, clicking and thump noise when in reverse and accelerating from stop. Have ordered a TCM and Transfer Case Motor, putting in this week. Will update if it fixes.

Fixed - Replaced transfer control module, 100kms tested all working, changing gears smoothly and cruise control / fcw message cleared and functions tested and working ok.
Still working ok? About to follow your lead here and thanks for posting!

Hard to believe that there is not more to this.......I have been dealing with this for 6 months and will NOT go to the dealer, reasons for this can be easily seen through this thread. JEEP CARES please, provide some guidance here........things break, I get it, my vehicle has had cracked rockers, camshaft, 4wd motor failure......among others. I get it they are complicated but there is a trend here. My 2017 Trailhawk V6 is showing this craziness and noone I bring it to can say for sure what to do, since I am NOT in warranty, its kind of hard to trusst spending 4,500 on a transfer case if as shown here it winds up not being the problem......The only definitive thing is the Drivetrain Control Module.......seemed in one case to take care of the issue..............well, can you confirm this in general? With the obvious lack of knowledge at the service area you can imagine how much we need to know what to do out here......PLEASE.

That's the rub though....I have a 150.00 code reader has worked fine all along....but it does not see this code/error. Nothing is stored.......my mechanice has a similar basic unit and his does not see anything either. No CEL is displayed.......so I am thinking that there code readers and there are CODE READERS......and Jeep has the one that sees these 'communication' type erorrs that come and go..??? AND while I agree about the throwing parts at it thought, and it is the case, in this situation we are talking about a transfer case at 4,000.

H all, I came to this forum because I was having the same issues intermittently. Then it started to happen more often. I changed the TCCM and my issue is now FIXED! It was less than $90 on Amazon. They also except returns. So if it doesn't fix your GC then return it. It's better to try that than $4500 transfer case that you can't return if it doesn't fix it. Move the driver seat forward and up as far as it can go. Lift up the plastic floor covering and it is the most forward module underneath there. It took me less than 5 minutes.

Hello All, Same issue here. 1 month ago same lights as everyone and my 2019 Trailhawk went into 4 low on startup. no indicators showing 4 low. powered off ignition, open and closed door to power off. That worked. today driving down the highway the lights came back on. FCW , Stability Control. and service 4wd. After reading these posts i ordered a control module. Also my code reader shows code: U1440-70. I will update iff i remember if it fixes, or does not fix.

I am still limping along till I find a few dollars to do a few things. For me the TCCM did nothing.....I am very curious to see what happens for you. For me I am going to replace the two external items on the case, the sensor and the motor, once the budget allows. For now, I drive 'old tanenbaum' (named for the number of lights and bells that go off each time we drive it....till I can .......

I have to say my experience with my Jeep have created a 'never again' thought......for two reasons. Failures and the fact that most are things I cannot fix my self, requiring me to to the dealer. I have only found ONE good dealer in my many travels from NC to SC to MD to VA to PA and FL....it was outside DC of all places....other than that they are not trustworthy and there is good reason now service groups are offering financing.......for service....things are out of control. Lesson? Buy old, the ones your local guy or gal can fix or even yourself....That;s my plan...

Ok so, my part came in. Amaz0n $160 part. There are 2 models. $90 and $160 range. Fairly easy process to replace. Disconnect negative battery terminal under passenger seat. The module is under drivers seat. Not even mounted in. It's held in with a money clip style holder. Just slides out. 2 plugs. 1 had a red securing clip. Swapped out modules, reconnected battery and all codes gone! I did test drive and idle , disconnecting the battery will clear the code for a few minutes. However........ my backup camera, sirius XM, passenger heated seats, climate temperature adjustments - all did not work???? I swapped out the module back to the old one and the inop systems still did not work, and TCS lights came back on. Put new module back in. I did the online searches, hold buttons down, pull fuses etc. But letting it sit for a couple hours while I hung christmas lights did the trick. Had to let the body control module power down. This is my 4th jeep I've owned. They ALL have been quirky with power. But to sum up this story. Replacing the transfer case module worked for me.

And it's a 2019 grand cherokee trailhawk, 5.7 ,

I have a thread about this too if anyone comes across this. Lists the trouble shooting the dealer did and the associated part numbers. It ended up being the rear diff in my case.
Hi Charles, I am also based in Denver and having this issue with the FCW needing service and Service electronic stablilty control messages coming on, after somehow my vehicle was put in 4wd low earlier today. We just had it serviced on the 2nd and are supposed to leave for a road trip in a few days. Can you please help me understand what I should buy and do to maybe fix it? someone mentioned getting something off amazon but I know nothing about cars.

Go to my post history and find that post, I'm short on time right now but you'll see the part numbers and what I went through to mess with it.

Thank you so much for the quick reply, is there any way you can share the url to your post? I went through all of your activity and its comments or reactions to other posts. I'm not computer illiterate but this is my first time on this site and I'm a 39F who knows nothing about cars. Thanks!
