Does anyone have experience with adding an aftermarket remote start on a 2019 Cherokee (Latitude). It has the “key” that isn’t a key but you have to insert the key fob and turn it like a traditional key. It also has the cut off/restart function at a stoplight.

Our primary concern is how well do they integrate into the Jeep system. Especially the cutoff/restart function when we stop at a traffic light. I think that function is part of braking so if you start the car remotely, it will conitnue to run because it isn't sitting waiting for you to release the pressure on the break. It wouldn't turn off because it has been started and left idling for several minutes to warm up sitting in the driveway. Do after marketparts that need to integrate to the car's electronics cause other problems suc that you regret installing the remove start.

A remote start system is not active after you get in the car and switch it over. The Compustar was a plug and play in the Lexus and if were taken out, the car would operate as normal. This is the third system I've had and never had any issues with any of them. I will say that installing one needs to be done by a Compustar dealer. It's not something you can do by yourself.
Your car should have all the necessary parts in it already but would need to be activated by the dealer. It might require new fobs if yours doesn't have the button for it. I would check with a dealer about getting it activated and compare it to the cost of a Compustar. I have remote start on my Summit and it works pretty good but the distance isn't as good as my wife's car.
