So I finally found time tonight to try this procedure, after I purchased the full AlfaOBD software (Android). I was unable to find Cust.Set.Menu 2: Wheel Alignment CSM Present. I chose Powernet Architecture 2013+ and I connected successfully but as I said, I could not find it. It is not the most user friendly interface but I used the "search" function to narrow down the entries and there was nothing about alignment. Any suggestions? Could you post a screen grab of this option? Thanks.

According to this document (2018 Config) also shown on the first page of this thread, I should have seen the wheel alignment CSM entry; but I do not. Instead I learn (to my surprise) that unlike all the other plebeians with just 4 wheels on their Jeep, I have a rear dually axle. I am not going to describe the difficulty I have walking from now on...but I will voice my displeasure that this AlfaOBD is reporting preposterous values.

My experience is with a MY2020 UAV and an OBDLink MX+, so there may be some differences for you.

1) On the AlfaOBD's "My Car" screen, set Jeep, WK2, Body Computer, and the Control Module for your model year.
2) Connect to the OBD interface.
3) Tap the "open hood" button.
4) In the Procedure list at the top, select "Car configuration change" near the bottom of the list.
5) In the Option list, select "Cust.Set.Menu 2: Wheel Alignment CSM Present". It's about 90% of the way down the list and about the 12th Cust.Set.Menu 2 item.
6) Set a value of Yes.
7) Tap Start.
8) AlfaOBD should report a current value of No.
9) Tap Next.
10) Disconnect.

If it works, it may take a few ignition cycles and some time for the menu item to appear.

Does anyone know how to permanently disable the air suspension system on a 2012 GC using the AlfaOBD tool? The 2012 is before PowerNet and instead goes through the Central Gateway Module to make car configuration changes.

I suspect the suspension type has to be changed, but it just lists the different suspension types as 1, 2, 3, etc with no other reference information.

Just checking here to see if anyone else has figured this out. Otherwise I'll just have to live with the warning light every time the Jeep is started.

Thanks in advance for any help!

I ended up fixing the air suspension issue without directly using the AlphaOBD software.

Here's what seems to have worked for me. This would likely only apply to 2011 through 2013 GCs since the 2014+ models can disable the air suspension using the AlphaOBD tool.

After removing the air suspension and replacing it with a coil suspension, I took the Jeep for a test drive before trying to disable the air system. As expected it gave me all kinds of warning lights during the drive. Next I used the AlphaOBD software to check the codes it was giving me and they were all associated with the air suspension system not working properly (which was expected).

Next I cleared all of the codes and the disconnected the Jeep's battery. With the battery disconnected, the only thing I did was to disconnect and remove the Air Suspension Control Unit that is located under the driver's seat. Then I re-connected the battery and took it for another test drive. This time there were no warning lights. After the drive I checked for error codes and the only code was a body control module code stating that it had lost communication with the air suspension control unit. It also said this loss of communication code does not light up any warning lights.

It's now been multiple days without any warning lights or other codes and at this point I an counting the warning light problem is solved for my Jeep. I can't promise that this approach will work for anyone else, but it seems to have worked for me.

Anyone know where in AlfaOBD I can find the setting to disable the engine START/STOP?
I have a 2017 Grand Cherokee Limited
I see a setting for START/STOP switch present
Will changing this setting disable it?
And I’ve heard about running a Proxi Alignment afterwards. But I’ve also heard it’s not necessary on my vehicle.

Thanks

Pre 2019 BCMs aren’t capable of VehicleConfig 8
For those that have purchased BCM's, do they come with firmware pre-loaded? So I could purchase a 2019 BCM to replace my 2018, disconnect battery, replace BCM, re-connect battery then push my saved config file to the new BCM and be up and running? No dealer visit or Wi-Tech required?

I didn't know that we could back up, or save a configuration file.
I had my bcm replaced once, prior Jeep, but required dealership w/Wi-Tech to restore it back to factory specs. before it could be used.

Following, because I would like to know.

Sorry, my wording on my post above is probably bull poo-poo... I'm new to Alfa OBD, I know it can read the system ID and save the file as text. Not sure if there is way to push the file back in 1 click or if you have to change each parameter one-by-one. Or if it even has the ability to write the VIN, if that is even required in a new BCM.

I just know there have been others in this thread that updated their BCM to a newer model year to get their UAV radios to work, not sure how they programmed them or if they had the dealer do it?

I have a 2016 GC Summit Ecodiesel and AlfaODB with odblink mx+ and for the life of me I cannot find the setting to disable the nav lockout while driving. I'd really like to be able to have my passenger set the destination without having to stop. I know everything works cause I do have the Global windows down working.

Thoughts?

The only way that ever worked was through a hardware add-on. For many years I used a CoastalTech LockPick Air and more recently a Customtronix Jail Breaker to help input the front view camera and get rid of this navi lockout. The Jailbreaker was good, but with every temperature exteme (usually hot weather) the unit would crap out and I would have to reach behind the dashboard. Once I got the new UAQ radio and the harness that Infotainment.com provided, I was able to get rid of the Customtronix unit and replace the front camera view with a soft button on the dashboard. No longer automatic switch below 7 mph but oh well, I can press a button. But I lost the ability to input navi commands while driving and like the rest of you, I tried activating that feature through BCM.

The developer was working on this, a few months ago. Shoot him an email and see if he made any progress.

Was NOT expecting this! Same 2018 BCM as before. Noticed AlfaOBD notification for new software available. Updated to ver 2.3.0.0. Went back into veh config 8 and checked off ARC to yes just to see. This time no errors. Didn't reset the radio as I was planning to write to the PCM to make some other changes which seems to reset the radio. Went in this morning to check some other stuff and whoa. Will report back if it actually works as some of the info seems incorrect.

just wish this stops showing up:

Any idea if you can reflash the heated seat modules with alfaobd? I am in the midst of trying to swap vented seats in my 2014 gc limited from a 2014 overland. Everything else works (heated seats, steering wheel), but vented seats won’t stay on for longer than 5 seconds- i reflashed the BCM with JScan, but haven’t had any luck with the heated seat module.

So I just removed my quadralift and replaced with the Rocky Road lift kit instead. I bought Alfaobd to disable the quadralift in the BCM, which worked great. The only problem is that as soon as I did that I'm now getting an ABS warning. I've tried doing the hard reset under the BCM function and clearing the ABS codes within Alfaobd, but neither helps. Oddly enough, my regular obdlink software that came with the BT obd module doesn't see a code for ABS. Any suggestions?

Never mind, fixed the problem after searching through this thread a little more by doing ABS Initialization:
Static ECU Initialization,
Longitudinal acceleration sensor calibration,
Clearing Rolls Information,
Followed by clearing the Fault Codes.
All good now. And just because, here's a pic with the lift kit installed:

Great find. Keep that procedure, you will need it again in the future.

And you got it in the correct order. (y)

I have used it for tire size change, Break upgrade and I will need it again after I replace my differentials (gear ratio change). Good to have in your back pocket. Good to know that it can be preformed without having to take it to the dealer.
