Yes. Most of the work is done by the front sway bar typically. For a short time on our 2006 Durango, my wife and I took off the front one back when we were waiting on parts, because we didn't want to deal with the rattle from the worn out parts.

Be very careful in turns, and don't make sudden lane changes at highway speeds, as you will be surprised how much extra sway these things have without that bar. As long as you are careful, you can drive it that way for a little while.

 

SD pretty much summed it up, I would also say yes but be careful as the independent rear suspension will get unsettled quite easily. I wouldn't do it for long though as any evasive maneuvers could get sketchy.
