Mine was LA084X01-SL01 which was the previous model from LG and has been replaced with LA084X01-SL2.

This is the one I got on eBay:

And this is the video on youTube for the instructions to replace the defective screen from the radio:
Hey ZX thanks for posting that video even though it was a RAM screen replacement but i'd think it should be similar for WK2's.

My Jeep dealership has once again changed service management.
I got to know the previous manager very well where i was confident i could get one of those dealership good will screen replacements but never asked dammit.

Got to chat with the new service mngr. the other day while getting my XJ's tires rotated and mentioned my '18 WK2's screen is starting to delaminate.
As an aside the new mngr. and the quick lube jockeys got a real kick out of my 380K mile XJ. lol
Anyhow back to the screen, bad sign as he said they'd have to order a new Uconnect head unit! Shit!
But its not over til "the fat lady sings".

There's no way i'm gonna pay for a new head unit so those aftermarket screen replacements look like the way to go and seems to be an easy job.

I have the same issue of delamination in the upper left hand corner which is affecting my touch screen as well. I called FCA and they stated since I am a second owner (bought used less than a year ago) that there is nothing they can do about the situation but they acknowledge it is an ongoing issue. I struggle to see how a new owner affects something internally in a screen. Can anyone out there point me in the right direction to get this issue resolved? Thanks! @JeepCares

Try contact Contact Us - Uconnect® Customer Support and see if they're able to assist you with some sort of service at goodwill. I'm hoping for some luck too as my car is also out of warranty.

Hi fmiceli81,
Sorry to hear about this. Given that it has already been determined that we're unable to offer financial assistance, sadly, we must support this decision. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

@JeepCares - I don't seem to be able to direct message you. My 2018 GC High Altitude is rapidly de-laminating as well. Please advise on what steps I should take, thanks!
Hi bhelms,
You should be able to now that you've made a post! Feel free to send us a PM with your VIN. We'd be happy to look into this for you.

About 2 weeks ago I bought a 2018 Grand Cherokee High Altitude. It has about 36,000 miles and is a certified pre owned vehicle. Within a week of buying the vehicle I noticed the top of the screen starting to delaminate. I called Uconnect and the first person that I talked to said it wouldn't be covered since I am the second owner. I called back again and talked to someone else and they told me to take it to the dealer to get diagnosed and then they would try to do a "good faith" replacement of the screen. I took it to the dealer and they told me it needed to be replaced. I called Uconnect back and they said they would elevate my issue to case management. A day later they called and said they would be more than happy to replace the screen at no cost to me. I guess it just depends on who you talk to. Call 1-800-826-6632 and tell them you want a good faith replacement. Uconnect knows its an issue and seem to be willing to help.
@CJW40 Hi, I also have been in communication with UConnect Customer Service, with the help of JeepCares regarding the same issue and was told they'd cover it 100% but I have to pay out of pocket first then get reimbursed. Not sure I want to be stuck with a $1500 bill and not get reimbursed so I'm wondering, did you get your radio replaced at no cost to you and no catch whatsoever? Did you have to pay out of pocket or did they arrange to send payment directly to the dealership that you chose? Thanks!

Sorry I tagged the wrong person. I meant to tag @Maverick_0530.

If everyone would take the time to file a complaint with NHTSA, then maybe it could spark a recall because this is a safety issue. Report a Safety Problem | NHTSA It sure looks like they're not going to replace most or any of these bad screens unless they're forced to. If there was as many class actions lawsuits as people say they were going to, this would be an issue but talk is cheap in the internet.... Oh and Jeep cares is a joke so don't waste your time there unless you have an extended warranty.

I'll do the form and call in the morning. I agree. This is a huge safety issue. Changing the ac to heat. Calling people randomly. Etc. Huge distraction while driving

Thank you Sarah! I still don't seem to be able to PM you following the instructions in your footer. My VIN number is 1C4RJFCG7JC121379, can you PM me please? Thanks!
Hi bhelms,
We just followed up in PMs!

I bit the bullet. I bought the newest (SL)(03) model off eBay. I installed it successfully this morning, so I can confirm that this model works on my 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee High Altitude:

@JeepCares My screen is starting to delaminate. I am the original owner and would like to know what I can do to get this replaced. Please reach out!
Hi Benz,

Have you worked with a dealer for a recent inspection? Send us a PM with more details so we can determine the next best steps.

I'm also experiencing an issue with my screen delaminating on my 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Over the weekend I had a problem where the screen was constantly switching to the radio from any other screen that I was on. That made it difficult access the settings menu since it was constantly changing back to the radio. I already filed a safety report with the NHTSA but have not heard back yet.

Today I had another issue where it was constantly clicking on the Clock and asking if I wanted to change the time. I was able to capture a video of this while I was stopped. As you can imagine the screen constantly switching or flashing is incredibly distracting, especially if you're driving at night!

Unfortunately I bought my Jeep Certified Pre-Owned and am now around 37,500 miles so I'm certain I'm out of any warranty that I had and definitely out of the factory warranty.

I've already tried calling Jeep at 1 (877) 426-5337 but was told there was nothing that could be done because there's no recall in the system. Since this is the case I guess I'll need to file a safety report with the NHTSA each time this occurs. It's really a bummer because it's such a nice vehicle otherwise.

if you end up paying for the new unconnect unit yourself, make sure you keep the receipts.. slim hope FCA will issue a recall and we might get reimbursed.

UPDATE: @JeepCares got me a replacement radio at no cost to me. Thanks, Jeep!

Same problem here on my 2018 GC LTD with 9,700 miles. (Not a typo, that's 9,700.) I am the original owner, and out of warrantee. It's at the dealer right now; they basically told me I am out of luck. Here comes a $2k bill. 😡 It's not practical for me to fix this myself because I am in a city apartment with no place to work on a car.
I tried to message Courtney @JeepCares, but the message would not go through because I have not posted here enough. I also filed a complaint with NHTSC, but I am not holding my breath that that will get me relief. I tried the "hotline" someone posted earlier in this thread -- it was answered with, "thanks for calling the certified pre-owned center" so I hung up. My car isn't pre-owned unless and untill I sell it-- I bought it brand new with less than 20 miles on the OD from a test drive. Any suggestions?
Try calling UConnect Customer number 877-855-8400. The screen is part of the UConnect system, so they may be able to assist. Mine isn't under warranty either, I am second owner with 71,200 miles. She told me I had to first have a dealership diagnose the issue, then they might be able to help. It is worth a try.
