Have issues been sufficiently resolved in 2024 Wagoneer's?

I'm a long time Jeep owner, and have some close friends that know that, that have asked me my opinion on them buying a 2024 Wagoneer.

I had read numerous reports on the early ones, but I'm not finding a ton of clear answers on if these have been resolved with the most recent 2024's

Any feedback or links to helpful info?

Depends on what the issue is. My 2023 JGW-S3 has been a week today for UC reboot issue. Latest update is R/R the radio module…not sure if it is the radio module or the screen. The $64K question is….how long will it take to get a replacement screen.. aside from that no other problems. There was a thermostat recall, that was reportedly accomplished while waiting for feedback from Warren Programming engineers.

Bought a 2023 GWL Series ii in September, 2023, had many issues primarily related to electronic/computer components. Easy exit wouldn't work consistently, seat memory settings would not be stored correctly, main screen would black out intermittently, MacIntosh app disappeared (replaced the unit with a 2022 version which seemed to work), very bad wind noise despite multiple attempts to resolve. Stellantis was great about it and worked out a replacement strategy with me so on May 31 picked up a 2024 GWL Obsidian. Night vision works great, rear screens work great, easy exit and memory settings working as expected, strange thing has been happening with the main display though, when the sensors pick up that I am close to a structure, as in a drive thru, upon departing from the area the forward and overhead camera views continue to project for an extended length of time, roughly 15 to 20 seconds. Odd. Also, this one has been a bit finicky when waking up on the approach with the key fob. It sometimes won't recognize the fob until I actually grab the door handle. Perhaps this will improve over time. All in all, very happy with the 2024 over the 2023 and with having switched from over 20 years as an Expedition, Excursion and back to Expedition EL owner.

There is a setting within the UConnect5 menus to enable or disable that feature.

2024 Jeep Wagoneer I would give Pause before making that step.

First, purchased the car in June. Initial impressions, it left the lot with a small shimmy, and noise coming from the back seat. The Shimmy I had wrote off to flat spots, and the noise from the back seat as a rattling seat belt. I live 100 miles from the dealer, the dealer said drive it home if it continues bring it back during your next oil change we will balance them. Took the car back in, they ended up replacing all 4 tires, and replacing the back seat. Problem solved, except the balancing machine was off so the shimmy was worse. Took it back, this time said go ahead and make the first oil change. They took the car to a different tire store to have the tires balanced, which worked, but now, and I didnt catch until the next day, the computer was telling me I was down a quart of oil. The digital level indicated there was no oil in the car, which clearly could not have been the case. But I added a quart and followed the instructions on the scree to reset, when I realised the oil cycle had not been reset either. The dealer was told to come get the car, which they did, they towed me a loaned 100 miles to me, and then took the jeep. 2 weeks later I got the jeep back, had it about a week, when I went to get in the car, the car wouldnt start and said no key fob detected. Stellantis offered to make my car payment, and they did indeed send me a $1450 check for Sept. The dealer had me unplug the battery for an hour, which didnt work, but figured out I could press the Key fob into the start button and it would start the car. Took the car to a local dealership and had them replace the batteries in the fobs, which didnt fix the problem, so the car when back to the originating dealer. They discovered it was a perimeter sensor causing the issue and Chrysler said it was on back order until the 24th. When I called Stellantis, and spoke at length with their customer care, they got someone from corp parts involved and apparently have ordered me the part and its supposed to be in play in the next couple of days. I get it, and sure someone will say something, dont buy new models in the year they come out. Here's the thing and the pause. I drove a lotta stuff prior to buying the Jeep Wagoneer. The Tahoe, Yukon, Cadillac version, Toyota Sequioa, Explorer, and I have to be completely honest, the Jeep Wagoneer with the Huricane motor, is like driving around in a race car but instead of uncomfortable seats, you are driving around in a living room. It tows my 2 jet skis without any effort whatsoever. I really really like the car. So here's the pause. I paid $81K for this version in June. It has 4000 miles on it, Edmunds says its worth $67,628. And when I say I paid $81K that was the make sticker price, not some side show sticker. That is a loss in value of $13,372 in 2.5 months. I dont know that I have ever seen anything drop so quickly, and Im hoping that drop is over. $3-5K on signing sure, but $13K in 2 months. That is discerning and to be absolutely fair when pausing, the dealer has been very helpful navigating these issues. Replacing all 4 tires is kinda unheard of, but they did even though they needed regional manager approval.

We bought a 24 Grand Wagoneer Sept 30 and it has been in the shop since Nov. 23 and they are telling me at least another week or two till I get it back. Who knows how long it will really be? We went to start it and all accessories came on but engine didn’t start. It has jow fried 4 batteries within minutes of then being put in. They say it is either a TCM or a valve in transmission so even though nothibg is on it is still thinking it has power. They have submitted a request to Chrysler for a tool to be able to fully diagnose the vehicle which will take at least 48 hours to have it even looked at then wait for the part and then whatever parts and work is needed will begin after that. I am not happy. It has 6,000 miles on it. So infuriated with a 100k vehicle.

Wow, we are usually loyal Jeep fans, but our new 2024 Wagoneer is a huge disappointment. Bought new from the dealer last month, after 2 weeks it had to go in the shop for two defective batteries. 2 weeks ago we headed out for our first road trip (Christmas family visits), the car won't start after three days on the road and we are stranded in Springfield, Illinois. We have it towed to a dealer there; PCM diagnosed and ordered. Crappy rent car given to us. That was 11 days ago and we are still in stranded. We missed Christmas and family visits and the road trip. I found the Wagoneer Client Services number on a forum, and got a case number and a case manager - who has NOT yet contacted us 8 days later! We are having huge troubles and stranded with a brand new 2024 Wagoneer, and they wont even call us back.

Although not the Wagoneer I’m referring to a 2025 Grand Cherokee Summit we ordered, it doesn’t give that new car fuzzy feeling reading these comments. We should be getting the new GC in early January trading our ‘18 GC Summit with no issues. I actually like all the electronics but only when THEY WORK! Good luck to all with problems.

The cause is a defective battery. As soon as the dealership puts their tester on it, it'll be apparent.
Beyond that, they need to check for all available software updates and perform them.

I've purchased 4 new Jeeps and thus far 3 of the 4 have required battery replacements under warranty. As soon as the warranty is expired, I switch over to ACDelco brand batteries and never have an issue after that. ACDelco AGM batteries will typically run for 5+ years even in electronic-intensive modern vehicles.

Just had 38 error codes pop off on my JGW 24’ with 12k miles. Dealership couldn’t repeat the problems I’ve had. Mainly the ABS turn on randomly and I lost power steering among other things. Anyone else have this problem? Dealer is replacing the TCM and said “these new cars are reliant on computers. If one thing goes it trips false issues across the board. This will be the second time I brought my jeep in for the same issue. Dealer said the car is dangerous to drive but nothing they can do. Next step if they can’t fix it is contact Stellanis

I wish! I am having issues as well. They cannot fix and it's been down to the shop twice, last time they kept it and gave me a loaner. They keep telling me there is no software update available. How can that be? I never owned a jeep and this is my 1st and last. I have less than 4500 miles on it. How can I get out from this?

No the problems still exist. In May, I bought a NEW 2024 Wagoneer in Lewisburg PA. It has been nothing short of a nightmare. First it was a dead battery issue. Then the second battery was dead. Those were both replaced. Then it was a blown fuse. The vehicle had barely 100 miles on it. It was in the shop for two weeks that trip. When we finally got it back, we traveled to the Finger Lakes in NY for a family gathering. We had our grandkids in the vehicle with us. While going through a small town, on the 4th of July, several dash lights came on, and the vehicle stopped dead in the middle of the street, causing a traffic jam. The power steering was gone and the vehicle shut completely off. I was finally able to restart it. However, this happened 4 times before we could get to our anticipated location. It went back to the dealership again. They said it was fixed, and we got it back. Wrong! It happened again the very next day as I was attempting to go to church. Again it stalled/stopped as I was only traveling 6 miles. So, back to the dealership it returned. (FYI…The dealership is 75 miles away.) At this point we are talking about a vehicle with less than 400 miles on it. We got it back again. Through all of this, they would NOT provide us with a loaner car. On July 11, the same thing happened and it went back again. We were supposed to drive this vehicle back to our Florida residence on July 12. We needed to be back for an important medical appointment on July 14. Therefore, we had to leave the vehicle in PA and purchase last minute plane tickets, and then rent a car at the Florida airport to get to our home. A few weeks later, my wife had to fly back to PA so she made an appearance at the dealership on Aug 4. The vehicle was still not fixed. They gave her a loaner (filthy dirty with absolutely no gas) that day which she used for 2 days. She returned to Florida so the loaner sat until they picked it up on Aug 15. (They had been previously advised that it was no longer needed.) Our vehicle was at the dealership from July 11 until the service mgr said it was fixed and they were delivering it to our house on Aug 15. I gave them the proper address. They delivered it to a wrong address, in the next town. My wife and I have hours and hours of time on the phone trying to talk with the dealership general mgr, the dealership owner, Chrysler/Stellantis, and the Jeep Wagoneer Specialist that was assigned to us, in an attempt to get some help with this problem. So, here we are in Florida with a brand new Wagoneer sitting in our son’s garage in PA. We need the vehicle in Florida, but I am afraid to get in the thing and drive it down. The vehicle is an absolute DEATH TRAP! This week we will be hiring a lawyer and taking a new approach. I might add that this is our second Wagoneer. We previously owned a 2022 which also had MAJOR electrical issues. Shame on us for getting another one. But, I am a retired Chrysler Jeep Dealer/Owner. I’m loyal to the brand…or at least I was! Do your homework folks, if you are thinking about buying a new Wagoneer…run away! This vehicle is a DEATH TRAP!

I have a 2024 Wagoneer Series II. Yesterday, it popped up low oil pressure and engine overheating. Had it towed in. Haven't heard from the dealer yet today. I told him about our ongoing electrical issues they haven't been able to fix. Radio screen blacking out, volume not working, memory seats not working. Sometimes you can't move the seats. The service advisor said his best advice was to get rid of it. That was reassuring.
