Hey Guys,
I'm currently removing some of the stock badges. Anyone have any insight on how to remove the glue/putty more efficiently... been scratching at the damn things for close to an hour

Thanks,
MikeHawk

i just removed the "jeep" on the hood. mistake i made was doing it on a non hot day as i dont have access to a heat gun. took a lot of elbow grease and rubbing with fingers. no scratching lol. goo gone to finish it off.

when i removed the the door molding it was way easier because i did it while it was sunny and hot out side. texas sun warmed up the sticky stuff to make it easy to remove.

I used a heat gun and a wide trim tool, popped them off real easy with most of the adhesive. Rolled some of the heavier stuff off with my fingers, goo gone the rest, and some quick detail spray to get rid of any ghosting left behind. No pins on any of the emblems except the Jeep on the tailgate. That one I replaced with the black logo.

If they are popped off while cold then there is very little adhesive "goo" left behind. This approach is obviously slightly harder to perform in summer/California, but I imagine an bag of ice or possibly a can of compressed air could chill it appropriately.

I used a bit of goo gone to touch up the few tiny spots of adhesive residue the cold approach left behind.

Used the pad of my thumb to roll the big chunks off. For the small residue I used bug/tar remover spray for cars (like $5 from O'Reily Auto Parts). Sprayed it down, let it soak for 2-3 minutes and it wiped off basically in one sweep.

Never used a heat gun for the entire process but as mentioned above, It also was about 90+ in Texas when I did it :D
