And I apologize, I didn't see this reply until I just posted my other findings. I want to try doing the 16.16.13 update, but you have me gun shy now, would you just suggest choking it up and going to the dealer?
I've always been pretty adventurous with this sort of thing, but you have to operate at your own comfort level. I did look over the service bulletin for the 16.16.13 update. It seems to be targeted at both the RA3 & RA4 units, and your particular vehicle is listed in the bulletin. Read it over and see what you think.

It appears to be a viable option, I opened this 16.16.13 update, but it wasn't the same as the others, IE left clicking to extract files, it just automatically asked where I wanted the file sent to, which I chose flashdrive.

You need a file named swdl to put on the flashdrive. Pictured is at left, the downloaded file, at right the file you can extract by left clicking on the 7z file. You want only the swdl file on your flashdrive. I believe this is what you did. Good luck!

GOT IT, I'm going to go try it in the car and I'll report back shortly. Thank you!

Sorry to hear that. I can't find an update specifically for VP3. The files that I can find available say that the update is for both systems, as shown in the service bulletin. Not sure why it won't work. Maybe it has something to do with the addition of the nav, but I can't see why that should make a difference. If you really need the update, I guess you could talk to the dealer. One other option might be to do what I did when I couldn't get the download I needed (when I used the Ram VIN to download it off the Uconnect site). I scoured used car sites that provided VIN numbers for their vehicles, and looked for a vehicle match to use it's VIN on the download site. I spent a bit of time until I found a match that worked, but I was able to proceed that way. Many owners never update, so their VIN numbers pointed to a good download. Maybe there's a slightly different version that you need. Good luck, and sorry I couldn't help. Let us know if you find a solution.

Ok, so say Carvana, I need to look for a 2015 Challenger, and try it's VIN is what you are saying to try next? My brother has a 2016 Charger, with 8.4 and navigation, I was able to update his no problem, could I use his VIN and try that update?

Ok, I found a 2015 Challenger on Carvana, and it has the NAV radio, I went to Uconnect and it does have a available update foe the VIN, one thing I noticed that is different from the update it give for my car, is mine said VP3, this update says VP4..should I proceed to download it and try it as a last resort option before going to the dealer? Thanks again for all your help and patience!

I think that if you already downloaded your brother's update, it would show no updates available for his vehicle. You would probably be better off finding a vehicle the same as yours, with the same radio (RA3), and and use it's VIN. From the error messages you got, I'd look for a vehicle without nav (RA3). You could try the RA4, but I think you would get the same result, but nothing ventured, nothing gained. RA4=VP4, RA3=VP3. As I said earlier, I would hope updating with VP3 version wouldn't mess with your nav. By the way, your welcome! It's a hobby of mine trying to solve these kinds of problems, if I can.

If you manage to get a VP4 update to run on your radio, it may well brick it. The VP4 (RA4) and VP3 (RA3) are different systems with different features even after Nav is activated on the VP3.

Some have reported needing to have the Nav on the RA3 reactivated after major updates, but that the dealer has done it without charge.

Will I be looking for the latest 18.45 update still? And yes I thought the same thing about my brother's car, oddly enough if I enter his VIN, it says update available. And also I can download the update for my car's VIN, but is just shows me files not supported, then on Uconnect website in the instructions it states if I have version 15.17.6, dealer only update to the 18.45, which of course is what we're trying to avoid.

Thank you, that is good information to keep in mind, I'm at my wits end trying to figure it out, I'm curious what dealer will charge me to update, and that is assuring if the NAV disappeared they'll reinstall it, that was $450.00!

I think the reason you are pointed to the dealer to get the 18.45 update if you're on 15.17.6, is that there are intermediate updates that need to be loaded first. That's why I had to load the RAM update first. That was the intermediate update I needed that wasn't available on the download site. My radio was always RA4 with factory nav, so your situation may be a little different. When I check the download site for my VIN, I also get 18.45 available, even though I downloaded and installed it from there. Update downloads for MY 14&15 were a real cluster f*** back in 2017.

Even if the dealer charges you, it should only be for the service to flash the activation code to the radio. You've already paid for the Nav activation code and they should have a record of that.

Also, my system is completely up to date and UConnect still says I need the update that I put on it two years ago, so their setup is not necessarily reflective of what is actually on the vehicle.

Hi to all. Today I upgraded the system to version 2.136 using a disk image. Everything works well. My iPhone XS (IOS15), now connects properly via Bluetooth and transmits audio streams. * sox * - You are the best. Thanks for the update!

What is the latest stable update for my system?
