New here. ‘22 Overland 4xe with quadralift and similar issues. The clunking sound started a week or so after delivery. Also EXTREMELY stiff ride. So bad I switched tires with little relief. Of course, dealer here in ABQ blew it off. They know nothing of any issues with the suspension

Mine (23 Overland) will make the clunking noise no matter how long it has been driven. It also does not matter what temperature it is outside.
The dealership keeps giving me the run around when I have brought it in. I provide a video of it doing the noise in a flat parking lot and when going over normal bumps.

I've noticed now I can feel it through the front of the vehicle.

Hmm… think I found my issue.

Is that the sway bar disconnect or what?

It’s got 2,300 miles on it and never been off-road or touched anything that would justify this snapping.

Beyond annoyed right now. Dealer is keeping it for who knows how long.
I had the same thing break on my 2022 JGC Trailhawk as well. Have you had any more problems since the repair? The dealer just replaced the bracket on mine. I’ve put 8,000 miles on it since, and I have more knocking.

I too have the clunking problem. Dealer had the Jeep for 9 days and replaced the sway bar end links however the Jeep still clunks. Thay have ordered a new steering rack 4/18 with an ETA of two weeks. They asked if I wanted the Jeep back in the interim so I decided to take it home. The industrial dirt and dust on the Jeep in unbelievable and I prefer the jeep not sit there. Since then, the clunking has only gotten worse. I did check my Jeep for the broken piece shown in the picture above. Mine is not broken.

This posting has really been an education. Another writer referred to me.

Just to add to this thread.

I also get a clunk at slow speed. Mine is felt through the steering wheel. I cannot audibly hear the clunk I can only feel the clunk.
That sounds more like the loose steering rack issue.
have that checked.

My steering rack arrived at the dealership. Installation should be in the next couple of days.

I had a short conversation with the service manager. I mentioned that there are other 2022 Grand Cherokees with this problem and it appeared to be happening with GCs with air suspension so Jeep must be aware of the problem. He said that this is their GC is the first they’ve seen.

He said that the suspension was inspected by several people. Everything appeared normal. All bolts were re-torqued twice. He also said that they thought at first there was a bad strut. But that was rule out and the sway bar links were suspect which they replaced.

The decision about replacing the rack was made with Jeep engineering and there was no mention of other having the issue. I did mention what I had read on this forum and that one individual has a ’22 GC that had the same symptoms as mine and his sway bar was replaced and that it appeared to resolve the problem. He said that if the clucking continues after this repair, the front sway bar assembly will be will probably be next.

I be interested in hearing about any repairs done on other GCs.

How many miles were on you Trailhawk when you noticed the clunking issue? I started noticing my GC clunking at about 6500 miles. I now have just over 8000.

It wasn't until 8k+ miles and my first service that the noises started on mine.

I hope it works for you and the part was just defective. I wonder though, if it is a design issue. If so and Jeep replaces it with the same model/design sway bar as the original then the issue could rear its ugly head again. I’ve owned RVs for years and as you may or may not know, RV manufactures really don’t care that much about quality, just sales. I have had components go bad, replaced them only to have the component go bad again because the replacement part that is the same design issue. This has happened with not only coach builder but also with the chassis builder.

I talked with the Jeep dealer yesterday and am told the new steering rack should installed and the Jeep ready Friday. Today is day 41 in dealing with this issue.

22 GC 4xe Overland

rapid “puck” sound over road imperfections most noticeable at speeds under 40mph coming from (what sounded to me) front right suspension.
1st service 600 miles on odo: end links replaced
2nd service: front right strut replaced
3rd service: notes from tech “sleeves in upper control arm bushings have play” (on day 12 for this service visit) this is a different tech working on the vehicle and seems confident 🥴.
Jeep had me in a rental Tesla (got reimbursed) and luckily I’ve been in a loaner Wagoneer (it’s giving soccer dad vibes)

I'm sorry I haven't posted since the middle of May about my status. We had a medical issue and had planned travel at the same time. Luckily, I was cleared to travel although we started our trip eight days late. Our travel plan was to bring the Grand Cherokee Trailhawk home whether it was fixed or not and upon our return the end of June to continue the pursuit.

Anyway, I got a call from the Dealer that the new rack was installed but the clunking issue continued. The dealer has been in discussions with Jeep and Jeep the advised dealer to file a claim with Jeep. I'm not sure what all than entails but it somehow elevates it the issue. In their discussions, Jeep ask if the dealer could keep our GC while we were gone to work on the problem. The dealership ask me and I agreed.

I haven't heard from heard dealer about the status yet. I guess I really lean to the side of not expecting to get a call so I'll probably called next week. This is day 53 in the process and by then it will be two months.

My wife and I are in our early seventies and travel extensively in our motorhome. We bought the Trailhawk to tow behind the motorhome and because we can use it in moderate off-road situations. Luckily we still have another vehicle that is towable that we can use or this trip would have been impossible.

Sorry for the late reply. It was around 6-7k if I remember correctly. There has been no issue with clunking in the front since the work was done.

Hello folks. I own a 2022 WL Trailhawk (gas powered).
I have been experiencing the exact same clunking noise as described here for months. I have a little over 11k miles on my Jeep.
I took it in to see what service could do. The tech said he could reproduce the issue.
They were unsure of exactly what was making the issue but thought the control arms were bent. So they ordered and replaced the control arms. After a road test they said it was better but still had issues. They then replaced the tension bars. Another road test. Still some noise. They then replaced the sway bar links.
I got it back after two days.

Absolutely no difference for me. It makes exactly the same clunking and popping noise as you all have described.

I absolutely love this Trailhawk but this is infuriating!

When they fixed mine the service order mentioned that they used some sort of sound isolator and it turned out to be a loose control arm bolt. They tightened all the bolts F/R and it's 100% as new now, no more clunking during turns when the weight shifts.

I finally got my Trailhawk back. The sway bar was replaced and no clunking. Time and miles will tell.
Well the "no clunking" was short lived. Its back but sounds somewhat different. I visited the dealer service department yesterday to talk with the service advisor and have an appointment Wednesday with the Advisor and service manager.
