I cannot believe that my dashboard which I paid a huge amount of money for in the Overland jeep grand Cherokee it is a 2013 and with the last year started to slowly wrinkle and pull away from the dashboard base obviously there is a problem I see a lot of other posts about the leather dashboard wrinkling and coming loose from the base of the dashboard this is unacceptable Jeep needs to recognize that this is obviously a defect and needs to fix it free of charge them and how many miles are on a vehicle I’ve owned over 40 cars in my lifetime and I chose to buy the upgraded overland with the beautiful leather interior and leather dashboard and this is what I get for paying extra money seriously? Contact me back keep
Sounds like this might be a class action lawsuit in the making

Well my jeep was in the dealership from March 9 for approximately 31 days and I told him about the problem but it wasn’t written down on the work order this Schumacher jeep in Delray has gone through management at least 3 to 4 times trying to get this and other problems with my jeep grand Cherokee Overland fixed it’s in the dealership right now today for a fuel pump relay the car wouldn’t start and when I finally get it started I would leave it running wherever I want us to not get stuck which I have been stuck many times with this dashboard I never received an extended warranty notice from Chrysler I also pointed it out to the dealership when it was in on March 9 Of this year my dashboard is like a handsome man with no teeth this is unacceptable I pay a lot of money for this car and I am a multi Chrysler owner this may have to change if they don’t address my problems

I am having the same issue and like you said if this is a constant problem why just not make it a recall instead of having a certain date to get it fixed by. I reached out to JeepCares in hopes of getting this fixed and resolved because I as well have been a longtime Jeep client but now this is happening really puts them to shame!

I have a 2014 WK2 that has started bubbling since summer 2019 and has progressively gotten worse!!!!!!! Since it first started bubbling i took it to jeep dealer in Fort Worth, TX, and they said warranty doesn't cover cosmetics!!! I feel like this is something jeep should fix!!!! I bought the SUMMIT cause of the "Luxury's" but now it looks like a cheap ass car...my damn defrost doesn't even defrost properly anymore because the vents popped off.. (sure wish they worked during the snow storms we had here). I cant even post Snapchats cause the dash looks so ugly!!!! I have to zoom in on the camera before i record so the dash won't show up.. I'm low key embarrassed for people to see me rolling in this crap!!! I regret not getting the base model without leather dash!!! Smh... my dash is by far the worse ive seen on these forums... jeep cars has got to do something about this..

2014 Grand Cherokee Overland is having the same issue. I never received notice of a Service Bulletin and even though I noted the look of my dash when at my dealership for oil changes, there was never a mention of a Service Bulletin. As many have stated, it is tough to spend all this money on a premium product and have such an issue. It almost seems as if the bulletin was a bit under the radar. Hopefully more of us can get a resolution and get this issue handled. If Jeep will not handle it, has anyone played around with trying to fix on their own? Looking at it, it seems as if you could cut along the seam, pull up the leather, apply 3M adhesive and lay it back down...anyone try? Thanks!

There was a service bulletin for this #23-036-19 on Dec 18, 2019. Here is a link to the information. 23-036-19 Jeep Technical Service Bulletin. You must have visited a dealer during the time period or submitted your info to FCA group to qualify. If anything it tells you all the parts needed to be installed.

I got this during Covid and did not want to take it in. I waited till it was safer and then they said it was too late!

Hello I am brand new to this forum. I have a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit. The leather on my dashboard is bubbling and peeling and it looks like their is no recall/warranty for this. It’s a little frustrating because I have seen that others have the same exact issue. I am going to write to the FCA LLC CUSTOMER CARE about this issue. I went to a local upholstery shop and it’s a $3,000 job. I just hope that Jeep Cares will actually do something about this since many others have the same exact problem
Wondering if someone has any further advice on this . Thank You

If it were mine (or when mine does it too) and seeing that there's little help or even replacements parts, I'd be taking it to an upholstery shop and getting it fixed so that if there is a lawsuit over it, you can get reimbursed. Either way it needs fixed or you'll take a big hit on it to try and sell it. Sitting on here bitching about it isn't going to get it fixed. Just my thoughts.

After reading all the other posts above..... It’s obvious that this condition to our Grand Cherokee Overland/Summit leather dashboards we all are experiencing is a Jeep/Chrysler problem. I have a 2013 Grand Cherokee Overland 27K miles in mint condition. Same leather instrument panel top pad now coming up as well. Obviously it’s a terrible look on such an expensive vehicle. We recieved the letter dated 12/27/19 extending the warranty on the Leather Instrument Panel Top Pad. In BOLD letters it proceeds to say “If you do not experience this condition, then your Leather Instrument Panel Top Pad is operating correctly and no repair is necessary.”
Obviously it wasn’t working correctly just didn’t happen yet!!!!
Brought to dealership which told us it was from excessive sun damage. And there is zero sun damage.... Called extended warranty was told not covered. Called Jeep customer care and requested an extension on extended warranty due to the fact our Jeep just started having the issue end of 2021. And the fact our dealers told us that all of 2020 due to pandemic they would not have taken our Jeep in anyway.
Our Attorney brought to my attention something which is extremely concerning that the passenger side airbag is mounted in the instrument panel above the glove compartment which it’s possible it could affect safety to a passenger during a collision.
Being a Loyal Jeep/Chrysler customer we expect without reservation loyalty back from Jeep/Chrysler to do the right thing by honoring the expired extended warranty.
We expect Jeep/Chrysler will hear our concerns and take care of our issue so all of us Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland and Summit owners can resume being proud to own the Top Two Grand Cherokees available and not continue being embarrassed or disappointed.
Otherwise, we may all need to seriously consider next purchase if Jeep/Chrysler brand deserves our hard earned money going forward.

Mine did the same thing. They notified me during covid and when I felt comfortable to bring the car in the dealership stated that it was too late and that I would have to pay an obscene amount of money to replace the dashboard. It is so distracting to have to look at while you are driving!!! It is awful!!!

If you contact the Jeep warranty department and the dealer has documented that you brought it to their attention during the extended warranty period they may replace it at no cost. Someone in another thread just posted this about his dash problem and Jeep is looking into getting it fixed for him.

We were told the same thing, "we are still waiting on parts,... we're at the mercy of the third party supplier!!!", everytime we inquired about this over the last few years; delaying us out of the warranty extension period. Not worried, as I know they should have records of all our requests, but today when I put pressure on the dealer to perform, they now claim to have no record of ever ordering the parts or that we even came in to discuss the issue!?!?! We are VERY upset with them! I guess it doesn't pay to be a nice, patient person, better to be loud and kick over all their magazine racks!? I will have the vehicle in for another recall in the coming weeks and have asked them to quote the repair and list the necessary parts, and then I'll have some data that hopefully they will do the right thing with. ... meanwhile continuing to remain calm and civil and try to work this with JeepCares.

I'm in the same situation, 2015 Summit. My third and probably last Jeep. I can't believe they are leaving their premium and loyal customers out to dry. Would anyone be interested in being a party to a class action if I got an attorney to file? I'm not paying $3,000 for an obvious defect that's a known issue (and only cured for 2014 and earlier models). Does anyone agree?

We need to explore further legal action. There are dozens and dozens and dozens of issues known. 3000k per dash repair. None covered outside of 36k miles. Considered a “cosmetic issue”. This is a clear issue here that should be addressed by Jeep. Real leather should not be used on the dash. This is a manufacturers defect. I just had to go jump through hoops and pay out of pocket for a repair. Now I found that my headliner was not properly installed after they broke my windshield removing it for the dash removal and leather replacement. I am disgusted and sick to my stomach this is now resulting in more problems. None of this would have happened, if Jeep stood by their product to correct a long term issue. Im a 15 year, 4 vehicle Jeep owner and this experience will result in me changing vehicles and reconsidering any future Jeep purchases.
