I agree it does make sense. I thought of a reason for me not to do it though. I recently hooked up a aftermarket harness for my tow hitch (trailer lights) and one of the plugs plugs into the turn signal lights and none into the bottom reverse light. So if i want my trailer lights to work i can't do this. I'm ok with it. Hope you figure it out with Alfa but if it was me and wanted it bad enough $49 for Appcar wouldn't stop me. ;)

Anyone know what i would need to do to get auto high beams? From what i see i do have a camera in the rear view but i think its for the lane sense. I know this is a long shot but can that be used for the auto high beams or do i need a different mirror with a another camera located somewhere else. I see i can turn it on in AlfaOBD.

@Fishyguy I'm looking around for the auto high beams stuff for mine but keep seeing things that may be for your European turn signal thing. here's another to try.

CBC I/O Usage-Right Rear Turn Lamp Usage - RIGHT REVERSE LAMP #2
CBC I/O Usage-Left Rear Turn Lamp Usage - LEFT REVERSE LAMP #2

Does anyone know how to activate the trailer hitch on a 2014 Grand Cherokee using this app? The dealer wants $159 and I'm looking to try and do it myself before getting ripped off.
I didn't do this because I wasn't lucky enough to have the harness from factory so I can't confirm it will work but my guess would be to set each of these.

CBC Configurable Inputs and Outputs:
Trailer Backup Lamps Output Present: Set
Trailer Tail Lamp Relay Ctrl Output Present: Set
Trailer Turn_Stop Relay Ctrl LT Output Present: Set
Trailer Turn_Stop Relay Ctrl RT Output Present: Set

Trailer Tow Present: Set

For anyone who wants to do the European style turn signal thing using AlfaOBD change the following settings.

Combined Rear Lighting Enable: No
CBC I/O Usage-Right Rear Turn Lamp Usage = Right Rear Turn Signal
CBC I/O Usage-Left Rear Turn Lamp Usage = Left Rear Turn Signal

It changes the outside reverse light (#2) to the turn signal

Thanks for this! What bulb size are those, so I can purchase yellow LEDs

I got theses from amazon. They are bright for sure and pretty cheap. Guy I know has had them in his GC for over a year and working great

Okay, I'm very interested in doing this for my 2019 Grand Cherokee Trailhawk but have a few questions (sorry if they are a bit repetitive). Looking over the list I want to accomplish a few things off the top of my head, questions are bolded:

  • Disable DRL dropout
  • Change Tire Size: I have 265/65/18 now this will correct for that?
  • Disable noise cancelling (installing aftermarket exhaust)
  • Fog lights remain on with high beams
  • Enable LED usage without resistors: Does this mean I can use rear LED blinkers without resistors and don't get hyperblinking?
  • Monitor hood with alarm: I assume I have a factory alarm but how do you verify this?
  • Disable the Navigation lockout while driving, is this possible?
  • Change number of "blinks" when just tapping blinker stalk, is this possible?
  • Adjust the sensitivity of the automatic wipes, is this possible?
  • What is the Euro Tail Light function, any examples of this?
So judging from the initial post I need a ZAutomotive Bypass Module and preferably a OBDLink MX to connect to the OBD port and accomplish all of this.
