I am kicking around the idea of using a 9H ceramic coating as a rust proofing on the undercarriage of my brand new Jeep. There is a local shop here that does it, they use ceramic pro for the paint but use an industrial grade ceramic pro on the under side. Has any one tried this? I am thinking less weight and retain the stock look instead of a black/bedliner.
I also was thinking of applying it myself because the thought of leaving my trackhawk at a shop for a month doesn't appeal to me. The options I saw are optimum gloss from opti coat or ceramic 9H from Color N Drive (both off amazon). My plan was to tape off the parts I don't want coated and use an air brush kit to apply a few coats.
For the paint protection I am going with Silk from auto pro. It's an SiO2 Teflon coating.
