I just saw an article on Motorauthority about the SRT brand being integrated into Dodge and any non Dodge SRT models being phased out. Any inside info on if this is true about the Jeep SRT?
Dear 8lb 6oz baby jebus Please let it have the 6.2 Hellcat. The only question remaining is, what will the refresh entail for the 2016 Grand Cherokee SRT?

Can you please go into a little more detail on this Milous? This is throwing up a flag for me.The only question remaining is, what will the refresh entail for the 2016 Grand Cherokee SRT?
It's extremely rare to see any sort of notable refresh for the last model year of a vehicle. The only time I recall this happening for the Grand Cherokee was for the 2004 model year, last of the WJ's. It was somewhat minor, a tweak to the front fascia, grille and foglamps.Being that you are hinting at a refresh in 2016 is leading me to believe it might be a grand finale refresh before it is gone for good.
As much as I would like one, considering what the price will be by then, don't think I could pull it off financially. One more question.... are you planning on buying a 2016??
I couldn't agree more, and I think SRT is making a big mistake. The Jeep has stood along with (an in some cases "above") the rest of the SRT lineup for what will be the 10th model year this summer. It has brought a LOT of attention to the SRT brand over the years. The fact that is has been, and currently is the most popular SRT vehicle speaks for itself.Somehow the "powered by SRT" just cheapens it for me. I guess to me that makes it feel like an afterthought and not a true SRT vehicle.
Truly baffling. But there will still be non-Hellcat SRT Challengers with the 6.4, at least for model year 2015.I agree. When I heard that last month I thought it was strange. The only reasoning I saw was that the new Hellcat would be the SRT engine which free'd up the 6.4L for mass production use.
For me, that's ok, since it's a "non-racing" application and therefore does not dilute the SRT image/brand.The RAM got the 6.4L this year as well, although modified for towing.
I paid $44k for my '08, and if I were to trade-in for a current model I'd be looking at a whopping difference of almost $50k - a very tough pill to swallow on my budget! Even if I gave up food entirely (and maybe a little beer), and all outside activities, I still don't think I could pull it off lol.And I am with you on the price. At $40K the SRT was a no brainer. Now at $73K, it is getting harder to come to terms and let loose of that amount of money.
I saw that the 6.4L was going to be offered in the Challenger R/T this year but have not heard anything about an SRT version of the Challenger or Charger for 2015. Are they holding off for a year? The 2015 was a refresh wasn't it? Not a new redesign. Am I wrong?Dodge is even bringing the "Powered by SRT" into their own lineup - in a couple months they will launching two Challenger R/T models with the 6.4L engine. Another mistake IMO, the 6.4 should have been kept exclusively for the SRT models.
Yes, 2015 Challenger was a major refresh. They have not officially announced any of the 2015 SRT models (but will be doing so soon). The 2015 Challenger 6.4 SRT is on the launch schedule, I'd have to check on the Charger SRT 6.4 variant, Charger SRT won't launch until ~ January.I saw that the 6.4L was going to be offered in the Challenger R/T this year but have not heard anything about an SRT version of the Challenger or Charger for 2015. Again, I was assuming they would be announcing the new Baracuda with the Hellcat as the SRT variant but this morning have read that the Baracuda name will not be revived.
