Hi,
I just purchased 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L 4×4 it's going on week 2. First day driving home I was traveling maybe 45 mph all of a sudden it shift into Neutral 😐 I panic put on my Emergency button. Pulled over and parked waited then restarted it was all fine. This morning 330am driving down main road I had to make a U turn missed my turn off. Making the U turn car shift into Park I panic again luckily there were no cars on the road. I feel I made a huge mistake on my purchased. I'm not happy just nervous driving my jeep all the time. I don't know what to do. I'll have to take it to the Jeep dealership soon see what the problem is.
Well see the car has 35000 miles purchased used.

2014 grand Cherokee limited. It happened about a month ago, was in the interstate about 80mph and it just shifted into neutral, it scared me really bad i had an semi behind me , I'm glad that he saw i put my emergency lights on so he slowed down, car wouldn't start, felt like it was getting no gas. I attempted to restarted about 4 times and nothing , while i was looking for a tow company on the internet , i was like heck i will give it another try ,and it started and i drove away. Took it to the dealership , no check engine light on so there was nothing they could do. So i left a little upset. It happened again today. I was driving on the service road and it pop into neutral again tried to restart a few time without any luck.(same it felt like it wasn't getting gas) Let it sit there for about 2 minutes without messing with it and it started again.no check engine light. Could they be sometime that for some reason gets hot and kills the cars? Like a sensor somewhere? I'm not going back to the dealership because i will get the same answer nothing we can do if CEL is not on.
has anyone have the same issue any help will be appreciated.
I am experiencing the same issue. No codes come up when they check as well. I have had it happen at least 8 times in the last two years. It's extremely dangerous. I have also checked the NHSTA site for complaints and under the OTHER parts that has registered complaints I found at least 15 people who had reported this problem. It could be a disconnect of the fuel pump vent, another said the PCM housing has two small screws that attach the protective plate to the PCM housing and they are too long causing a short cuircuit, a faulty PCM itself as it is the vehicles brain. Jeep has had three recalls that address this matter and I have apparently had all that are relevant to my Jeep Grand Cherokee done. I am at wits end though as it is still happening. Did yours resolve?

Not good! Thankful you are ok! I had the same thing happen two different times so far in my 2019 Jeep Cherokee trailhawk. My husband was driving the first time on the highway 60 mph and it made a noise like when you push the gas peddle and you are in neutral. And it felt like neutral with no response. We were lucky there was a small pullout on our side of the highway in a narrow canyon. We tried starting it after letting it coast to a stop and sat for 10 minutes. Nothing. We had to get towed a long distance to a town. Waited several days and the Jeep dealership there said they could find nothing wrong! The CEL was not on. Good grief. That was in November 2022. It happened again when I was driving 30 mph on a two lane paved rural road and twice it did the same thing during a 2 mile stretch. That was today! I'm hoping Jeep is honest with their customers and admits they have a problem and let people know so this failure does not cause someone harm. It seems to be a waste of time to go to a mechanic at a dealership where we both live because they don't bother to evaluate past whether the CEL is on. Where are the great mechanics that are willing to figure out what's wrong?

Apologies if this posts double. I tried to post before making an account.

2015 Grand Cherokee Summit
Been experiencing the N shift while driving and it was impacting the brakes as well.
As odd as it sounds, my buddies high dollar scanner could only pull certain codes - None of which would cause the vehicle to go into "limp" or "safety" mode. Prior to his scan I borrowed and used a cheapo harbor freight scanner which showed a faulty sensor associated with the gas pedal. Double checked the voltage to verify. Replaced the pedal and the issue has gone away. $85, 3 nuts, 1 plug and done.

The vehicle was throwing warnings for the Throttle body and TPS, I threw a new one on and the problem re-occured. Took that off and got my $230 back. Long story short, if the pedal has a fault in the sensor, it throws everything else in the system off, hence why some "codes" are related but not the actual fix.

Hope this helps someone!

I posted below. Our issue turned out to be the gas pedal sensor. Super expensive scanner wouldnt show the code. Cheap Harbor Freight scanner did.

I have a 2019 Jeep Cherokee 6 cylinder, approximately 38,400 miles. Was running perfectly fine. When to park, put in Reverse to back up and the R starting blinking and vehicle would not move, it felt like it went into neutral. I shut off engine, then restarted and was able to back up. Then another time when driving it went into Neutral while the gear shifter was still in Drive, and the D starting blinking. I shut off then restarted and was able to continue driving but the power and smooth shifting was greatly affected. Seems like an issue with the transmission and or a sensor. I have an appointment with Jeep Dealership.
