Hey all,

After the reveal what are y’all’s thoughts on the new wrangler?

I like it a lot. I'm glad to see they really added a lot of things that you had to go to the aftermarket for, A pillar grab handles, better hood latches, tie downs, tailgate table etc.......

That being said and having had 4 Wranglers in the past, and not doing the kind of off roading that requires the best off road vehicle anymore.......I'd have a hard time going back to a Wrangler from my Grand Cherokee Trailhawk.

Though a Mojito Wrangler Rubicon with a 2 inch lift, snorkel, winch, and 35s would be tempting......The air suspension, adaptive cruise, and cooled seats in the Grand would probably still win out....

Looking forward to checking them out and seeing the impressions of those who take delivery of them.

I had the typical SUV for the last 7 years. I had an ‘06 wrangler before that and as raw and as dare I say uncomfortable as a wrangler is, there is nothing like it. And probably the only vehicle I still miss.

That being said they have added “creature comforts” to the new wranglers so there I no doubt I’m getting one. Only problem is a few options that I want will not be available for 5-6 months (blue color and possibly the new power top). Also, there was rumors of the wrangler getting cooled seats (which my wife has and they are amazing) but didn’t come to fruition. So if I can’t order till May I may wait till sept and see if they add them for the ‘19 models

I don't blame you, its probably a smart move. FCA has been known to cut corners only to fix issues later.. I will also avoid the 2018 MY... But considering the increased prices (gouging) and the way options are available (no LEDS on the Sport), no 2 door Sahara, and option prices, I may go elsewhere.

I saw a JL while sitting in traffic a few days ago. My first impression was, it looks like they took a JK and smoothed out all the sharp corners. Visually, it didn't look much different to me. The only reason it caught my attention was the lights, built into the fender flares.

I loved what they did with the design, many changes and the look is almost the same. Which is great as the wrangler just looks exactly as it should.......

I thought the reveal was impressive, and really loved the ads leading up to it. Haven't heard or seen much since, though. Loved my 2007 Wrangler and am looking to get an updated one. This one could make me pull the trigger!

I took one on a test drive... JLU Rubicon. I am hooked... can't wait to buy one. I must wait and give it a year....just to make sure major kinks are addressed... must...hold...on....

Interior is so much better than the JK... driving feel as well... and it just looks amazing standing still. I thought that I was going to wait for the diesel.... that gas engine (6 cyl) with the new auto transmission felt so good... wow...

I tried holding on and failed... ordered mid February. While it’s a new model, all the technology is being used elsewhere like the V6, the ZF 8speed, the 8.4 unconnect, etc... they tweaked the underpinnings but it’s still 2 solid axles, nothing really new there. So it shouldn’t be plagued more than average new car

That's a very good assessment of the situation. I really want to buy a new JL for the wife and have always refused to buy a new model of any car until at least 2 or 3 years in, but you're right about the tech and mechanicals being quite established. You have nearly convinced me to take the plunge as well. The new JL is truly an awesome vehicle in so many ways. There truly is nothing comparable.

It is better in almost every way from the JK. I absolutely love mine. Mine is a Sport S and i wouldn't change a thing.

And if you are a Rubicon buyer the the base Rubicon is on par with a Hard Rock or Recon.

I think it's a home run for Jeep. Only downside is that it comes at a higher price. I spent about $4,000 more than i probably would have on a JKU.

The JL is definitely an upgrade from the JK - in all aspects. I am a current JK owner that never thought about getting rid of my 2015 - especially for another Wrangler. But, I was so impressed the 1st time that I test drove the 2018 JL that I placed an order for a 2018 JLUR. Sorry JK :(

I also was very impressed with the test drive of a JLUR the very same day I placed an order for a Mojito JLUR. The ride was fantastic for a solid axle Jeep Wrangler. The only other Wrangler I could compare it to is my 2005 TJ. I have not driven, nor owned a JK. But I really liked the "sophistication", if you can say that about a Wrangler. This will be my wife's DD and I think we will love owning a JLUR.

I am 100% in love with it - ordered my Granite JLUR on 6/8. Can't wait to see her and hope she gets here in time for my 50th birthday in August :)

On the aspect of infotainment I think these features are pretty cool.

• 7.0-inch Uconnect touchscreen infotainment
• Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
• Automatic climate control

Apple Carplay and Android auto are the norm these days for every new vehicle and I think this will be similair for the 8.4 inch Uconnect system. What do you guys think?

I’ve had my 2018 Wrangler JLU for three weeks and like it except for the steering. It wants to wander all over the place. Dealer checked it out and agrees but when talking to the factory, they say it’s typical. I’ve got what I’ve got!
I don’t think so. After reading several other posts on various forums, I find hundreds of similar complaints. If Jeep takes a hard line here and refuses to address this issue, they could be setting themselves up for a class action lawsuit. This condition is dangerous!

How much air is in your tires?

Forget what others are saying. Live axle Jeeps will wander a little. Keep driving it and eventually your body, mind and soul will adapt.

JL is way better than JK in terms of interior ride. Hardest part of JL test drive was trying to find a manual trans in my area! Finally found one -- engine+ vibes are so quiet it took some time to get used to what the RPMs were for launching out of first gear -- quite a jump from my 3spd in the CJ5! Pulled the trigger in Sept on a 2019 JLUS 3.6/MT.
