I have a 2018 Jeep GC with a little over 38,000 miles and my screen is delaminating and sometimes has a mind of its own. I have even had a blue screen at times when I start my car. I called Chrysler and they gave me a case # and said to take to a dealership for them to evaluate and could be possibly covered under Goodwill. I'm out of warranty now and wished I would have taken it in when I first noticed months ago when I was still under warranty. Hopefully they will replace since this looks to be a common issue.

I contacted the dealership and they are going to replace it.
If you are told "no" by Chrysler, don't give up. Keep calling until you get someone that will help you. The uconnet in my 2014 stopped working (out of warranty) and I kept making phone calls until they agreed to replace it. This is obviously a major issue with Jeeps.

Thats great and I will def not take no for an answer. Thank you!

Hi, I'm sorry to hear this. Please let me know if you plan on visiting a dealership for this concern. I would be happy to open a case for you.

How does Jeep care when this is a known issue and it keeps happening to thousands of people, yet you wont recall this?! This is pathetic! Mine is doing the same thing and I wont just pay 1000 out of pocket when this is something Jeep knows is defective. Sounds like a class action lawsuit to me!

Hello JeepCares, I'm having the same issue w/ my 2018 Jeep GC and when I click on your username, I don't see the "start a conversation" button. I'm hoping you can assist me as well because I can't even listen to anything anymore in the car because it won't stay in one channel or option for more than a few seconds. Thanks!

@JeepCares I have a 2018 GC that the screen delamination has gotten so bad that it adjusts climate controls, changesd the clock settings, and ghost dials numbers from my address book. My vehicle is not under warranty. I was given an estimate of $1,200! Seriously contemplating my loyalty to Jeep.

Has there been any word on the "la084x01 (sl) (03)" versions? I'm starting to see a few on ebay, just not sure if anyone else has had experience with this new version.

EDIT: turns out both of those links are from the same seller, but with a $100 difference. Strange

<rant>unrelated, spending another 550 for a screen is annoying for those of us that wanted to retro this into older vehicles. by the time I'm done getting new screen for the used unit, I could have just bought a brand new unit from the deal a year ago that already had the new screen in it. </rant>

I'm having the same exact my screen is delaminating and I'm getting ghost touches constantly whenever I turn the car on. The dealerships first words when I described the issue were "we've been seeing a lot of those", then said that it would be almost $2000 to fix and I should call jeep for help. I called and spoke to half a dozen reps and no one seemed to care. This is my first jeep, and while I generally love the car, the brands lack of support on known defects is very concerning.

Hi @JeepCares - I've been searching around and so glad I found this forum. I've been having exactly the same issue as many people on here, UConnect screen delamination issue. My screen would randomly opens app, calls people, changes map direction, open contact, causing a lot of dangerous distractions on the road. I would be so greatly appreciated it if I can be connected with you for your help? Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Hi there, which one did you end up buying? This is my last resort but hopefully I won't have to buy this new screen out of my pocket.

If you replace the LCD screen to correct your delamination problem, the cost will, unfortunately, be totally out of your pocket. Jeep will only replace the entire headhunt if they agree to cover your repair. They will not reimburse you for parts you install yourself.

If you elect to do your own screen replacement (which WILL fix the problem), MAKE SURE the replacement LCD screen you purchase is either model LA084x01 SL02 or SL03 (the most recent version). Look very closely at the ebay ads, since most of the cheaper replacement screens offered are the original SL01 unit, which is the version that is defective and will eventually delaminate.

Thank you. I called FCA Care this morning and unfortunately they validated since my vehicle is so out of warranty (74k miles) they can't do anything. I'm going to try to contact UConnect Customer Care and see if they can do anything. Did you end up replacing the LCD screen yourself? I hope not.
I didn't have to. I installed a new Mopar factory UAQ headhunt in my 2016 Summit to gain CarPlay features. My unit had the revised SL02 screen, so delamination is not an issue for me. You can read through the other threads here on installing salvage replacement units from other compatible Chrysler/Jeep vehicles, as an option, but you have to be careful you don't end up with a unit that has the defective SL01 screen. Your safest bet is to purchase a SL02 or SL03 replacement screen and do your own repair. There are numerous online videos that will walk you through the process.

Also, you aren't going to get anywhere with UConnect "Customer Care".

Hey @JeepCares,
Same issues as everyone else. My 2018 GC Altitude is delaminating. At times the screen has a mind of it's own. Seems to be triggered by certain actions outside of just touching the screen. Actions such as using Bluetooth audio. My local Jeep dealer of course sounded unsurprised and said the replacement is a whopping $1,700 and after labor would leave me upwards of $2,000 out of pocket. This is absolutely ridiculous considering both how common a problem this appears as well as the as mentioned safety concerns this poses. Crazy there's no recall on this yet. I'd appreciate whatever steps you can take to help me get this replacement covered.
